Only a few days back we heard about Redmi registering an impressive feat of selling two million units of the Redmi Note 7 series smartphones. Xiaomi announced that within two months, it was able to achieve 2 million unit sales for both the phones combined – the Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro. In its release, the brand had also hinted towards the launch of a new phone with a 48MP camera, and now it seems that Redmi is ready with its new device and it will be going official in a few days. In the latest Tweet on its official Redmi India Twitter handle, the company has announced the launch date for its upcoming device, the Redmi Note 7S.

Redmi Note 7S Launch Date Confirmed as May 20

The latest tweet reads, "This is the #RedmiNote you've been waiting for! #RedmiNote7S with a Super #48MP camera is coming on May 20!" and it is accompanied by an image revealing the launch date of the phone and the name of this upcoming device from Redmi. The Redmi Note 7S was teased to have a 48MP camera. An announcement about this new device was also made on the official Mi forum, and the post read, "We know that you love Redmi Note series, and it shows in numbers, Redmi Note 7 series has already sold 2Mn+ units since its launch in March. So we have decided to get you both #RedmiNote as well as #48MP in our upcoming Redmi Note 7S."

The interesting thing to note is that the launch of the new Redmi Note 7S is not due for long and it will be released only a few days later. The highlight of the phone, like Redmi, has revealed is going to be the 48MP camera. Other details about this phone, like the processor, RAM and design are not yet known, but since the date of the launch is only days ahead, we won't have to wait for long. More details about the handset are expected to surface online in the coming days.

Redmi K20 and K20 Pro Also Awaiting Launch

It is worth noting that another Redmi phone is making rounds of the internet, which is the upcoming Redmi flagship, the Redmi K20 Pro. The phone has been the centre of many leaks and speculations, and there is little left to be demystified about this device. Like other flagship phones of 2019 out there, the Redmi K20 will also come with the Snapdragon 855 SoC. Some other leaks about this phone have hinted towards a pop-up selfie camera. This phone from Redmi is also expected to sport a 48MP camera sensor, and it will likely sport a 6.3-inch AMOLED display. Some other rumoured specifications say that the phone will pack 4,000mAh battery with support for 27W fast charging. The phone will be launched in China soon in the coming days.
