Exactly a week ago, Xiaomi launched its first Android One smartphone, the Mi A1 (first impressions) in India for Rs. 14,999. At the launch event itself, the brand announced that the phone will be up for the first sale on September 12, which is today. The Xiaomi Mi A1 is up for purchase on Mi.com, Flipkart.com, and all the Mi Homes and Mi Preferred offline stores. In online though, the device will be available for purchase at 12 PM, and it's a flash sale.
Xiaomi released two colour variants of the Mi A1- matte black and gold, and both the colours are available for purchase in today' sale. The Mi A1 is available in single 4GB RAM and 64GB storage option. Coming to the highlight feature of the Mi A1, it boots stock Android 7.1.2 Nougat and is part of the Google's Android One project.
The Mi A1 is also Xiaomi's first smartphone in India to feature dual camera setup at the back. It has two 12MP sensors at the back- one RGB sensor with a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens for 2X zoomed images. There's a dual tone LED flash accompanying the cameras. Frontal, there's a 5MP front-facing camera, which is slightly underwhelming.
The smartphone flaunts a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a 2.5D curved glass on top. Internally, it is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, clubbed with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is expandable with a hybrid microSD card slot. Graphics in the device are taken care by Adreno 506 GPU.
Connectivity options in the Mi A1 include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 4G LTE, VoLTE, and USB Type-C port. This entire package is backed by a 3080mAh battery. Xiaomi added a rear mounted fingerprint scanner to the phone.
The Xiaomi Mi A1 purchasers will get up to 200GB free data from Bharti Airtel. Apart from the Airtel data offer, there are no additional launch offers available with the smartphone.
