WhatsApp, one of the biggest texting applications in the world, might soon bring a clever new feature for the users. This feature would allow users to hide ‘last seen’, ‘About’, and ‘profile picture’ from contacts. You might be wondering that how is this a new feature since users can do all of it right now as well. But the thing is, they can’t do it with select users. WhatsApp allows users to hide profile pictures with contacts that are not saved on your device, but it doesn’t allow you to hide profile pictures with contacts saved on your device. To do that, you would have to block the concerned contact.

Further, WhatsApp allows to hide ‘last seen’ with contacts, but the setting is then applied to each and every contact. However, this might all soon change. Here’s what you should know about the expected upcoming feature from WhatsApp.

WhatsApp Might Soon Allow Users to Do This

As reported by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp may soon allow users to hide the ‘last seen’, ‘profile picture’ and ‘About’ from select contacts and no one at all. Right now, users can’t do all of this in the capacity that WhatsApp might soon allow the users to do.

The report mentioned that the Facebook-owned application is currently testing the feature and might roll it out soon. So now, if you have to hide your last seen from a particular contact, you can do that.

This feature from the application is definitely in the right direction as it will increase the privacy that the users get. However, note that if the users hide their ‘last seen’ from a particular contact, even they won’t be able to see the other contact’s last seen. So the privacy features will be a two-way street. If you don’t want to show your activity to others, you can’t see theirs either, simple as that which makes sense.
