Tata Docomo has started sending out SMS to its subscribers in various circles to select Airtel network manually to enjoy the services going forward. This is in-line with the news announced by both the companies earlier this month under Intra Circle Roaming (ICR) agreement.
In addition, several readers at TelecomTalk has pointed out that their Tata Docomo SIM cards are not latching into the network, and the only solution for this issue is to manually select Airtel network in the network settings of the handset.
It is also said that the network is only latching onto Airtel 3G network and not Airtel 4G.
Also, at the same time, Tata Docomo has announced a new tariff plan for its subscribers. And the operator is calling the plan as New Year Offer. This tariff plan costs Rs 179 and offers unlimited voice calls including roaming calls, 28GB data, which converts to 1GB data per day.
Sadly, this tariff plan doesn't offer any SMS benefits, and the data is 3G data, not 4G data. Furthermore, in some circles, Docomo is offering 1GB data at just Rs 32, and that too for 28 days. Back in October 2017, Tata has announced the merger with Airtel and all the Tata Teleservices customers would be moved onto Airtel network in the future. Recently, Airtel's Board also approved the merger with Tata Docomo.
