Taiwan Mobile has extended its partnership with Nokia in a one-year deal to enhance the capacity and performance of its 5G network while upgrading its 4G/LTE infrastructure. Strengthen 5G and 4G/LTE Infrastructure

Under the agreement, Nokia will deploy equipment from its 5G AirScale portfolio in Taiwan for the first time, including baseband solutions and Massive MIMO radios. Thousands of existing LTE sites will also be modernised to support Taiwan Mobile’s sustainability goals.

Taiwan Mobile will also install Nokia’s IPAA+ solution, which enables the addition of extra antennas in densely packed urban environments. Additionally, Taiwan Mobile will implement Nokia’s Carrier Aggregation (CA) technology to boost data speeds and network performance by combining radio spectrum.

This partnership extends a collaboration spanning over two decades, during which Nokia has supported Taiwan Mobile’s 2G, 3G, and 4G deployments. Most recently, Nokia helped deploy over 3,000 new cell sites for Taiwan Mobile’s nationwide 5G rollout.
