Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) Launching in India On January 10, Expected to Cost Below Rs 40,000

Samsung’s Galaxy A8 (2018), A8+ (2018) went official last month, and the company confirmed the devices would be rolling out across the globe starting January. The South Korean phone maker is now set to roll out one of the new Galaxy A series devices, the Galaxy A8+ (2018) in India. Samsung India has already started teasing the new phone but added this would be an Amazon exclusive product.

Though the company didn’t reveal any release date information of the Galaxy A8+ (2018) in India, an IANS report says that A8+ will be the first be launched in India on January 10, which is just a week away from now.

Ahead of the launch, the Samsung Galaxy A8+ has also been listed on Amazon India website. Amazon has created a dedicated page for Galaxy A8+ with a “Notify Me” option. Clicking the button will notify you when the smartphone goes on sale. However, there are no pricing details so far, but sources say the smartphone would debut for a price of Rs 40000.

The new Galaxy A series gives users flagship like features without costing a fortune. After Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8, Samsung’s A8+ is the company’s fourth smartphone with bezel-less Infinity Display. The A8+ sports a 6-inch Super AMOLED full HD+ display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

Design wise, the A8+ comes with metal and glass sandwich frame. The front panel is full screen without any physical button as the fingerprint scanner is now on the rear below the camera module. The A8+ 2018 is also IP68 certified, meaning it is dust and water-resistant.

The Galaxy A8+ is also one of the first Samsung smartphones featuring dual front cameras. The device sports a 16MP + 8MP f1.9 dual front sensors with Live Focus feature for portrait shots. On the back, the A8+ includes a 16MP rear sensor with f/1.7 aperture, PDAF, LED flash and 1080p video recording.

On the hardware front, Galaxy A8+ runs an octa-core Exynos processor clocked at 2.2GHz and paired with 4GB of RAM. The device comes in two storage variants - 32GB and 64GB, which is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card. The Galaxy A8+ packs a hefty 3,500mAh battery with fast charging and USB Type-C support and has Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS.
