The South Korean giant Samsung is here again with a new twist in its line-up which is the Samsung Galaxy A7. What sets this phone apart from other Samsung phones is the triple camera setup on the rear side and its exceedingly surprising price tag. The new Samsung Galaxy A7 makes its entry in the mid-range segment, an arena which is mostly dominated by Chinese smartphone manufacturers like Oppo, Xiaomi and Vivo. For quite some time, Samsung has been eyeing its entry into the middle range segment because even though the brand was launching many phones in the budget range and premium range and it enjoyed immense brand loyalty in the country, there was no single model out there in the market which would win the hearts of the people with a mid-range price tag.

For now, the Galaxy A7 marks a huge milestone in this regard for Samsung. Starting with this phone, Samsung is expected to keep launching new phones in this price segment. Below we take a look at top 5 features of the Samsung Galaxy A7 which set it apart from all the other Samsung phones and its competitors as well.

Samsung Galaxy A7: Premium Design

The Galaxy A7 comes with a premium look and feel for a mid-range Samsung device. The phone has been built out of aluminium, and it comes in a glass casing lending it a very premium feel. On the front, the screen has been protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 panel, and on the rear side, there is the 2.5D glass.

Samsung Galaxy A7: Super AMOLED Display

The Samsung Galaxy A7 sports a 6-inch Super AMOLED display (S-AMOLED) instead of the mainstream standard AMOLED panel. The S-AMOLED offers higher contrast, better vivid colours, darker blacks, and improved viewing angles as compared to the standard AMOLED display.

Samsung Galaxy A7: Triple Rear Camera

The triple rear camera is what sets this phone truly apart from its competitors. No phone, even in Samsung’s higher-end price spectrum comes with a triple rear camera setup. On the back side, there is a primary sensor of 24MP which comes with a f/1.7 aperture and is also capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps along with super slow motion at 960fps also. The primary sensor comes with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor which has an120-degree FOV and f/2.4 aperture. Lastly, there’s also a 5MP depth sensing sensor. The Galaxy A7 also gets a live focus feature that lets you play with the depth of field after you’ve taken the shot.

Samsung Galaxy A7: Impressive Hardware

For hardware and performance, the Galaxy A7 debuts with an octa-core Samsung Exynos 7885 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. The processor clocks a frequency of 2.2GHz which manages to perform well with multitasking, games and most mundane tasks. There’s also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor which makes up for a smoother looking front and back. On the front, there is a 24MP selfie shooter which comes with a LED selfie flash. There is a microSD card, and the phone packs 3300mAh in terms of battery.

Samsung Galaxy A7: Pricing

The Samsung Galaxy A7 bears a price tag of Rs 23,999 price in India for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. Although the price tag might seem higher for the A7 as compared to other phones which come with similar specifications, the Super AMOLED display, Triple camera sensor and the premium hardware entirely justify the price point. There is also a higher end version of the phone which comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and is priced at Rs 28,990.
