In a recent move, Reliance Communication has now launched 'Double Data' for their prepaid customers across Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. Though unlike other operators like Airtel or Vodafone; RCom isn't offering 'Double Data' on 3G recharges, instead they are offering 'Double Data' on few 2G packs.
Reliance Mobile customers in the circle can recharge with Rs 199 & Rs 43 2G data packs after which they would receive 100% more data for night usage. With the recharge of Rs 199, one would get 3 GB of data for 28 days while on Rs 43, the company is offering 750 MB data with a validity of one week. For more details, you can check the chart embedded below.
Though the offer isn't attractive when other operators like Bharti Airtel are offering 2 GB 3G/4G data packs at Rs 199 to Rs 250. On the other hand, Idea Cellular through is offering double data to most of the users on 4G usage. So RCom’s pricing wouldn't help the operator much in getting customers. According to latest subscription data shared by sector regulator TRAI; Rcom is constantly losing its subscribers in the circle to biggies like Airtel or Idea who are providing 4G network.
However, we're expecting that RCom would reduce their data tariff after Jio reveals their tariff. Also as Rcom would provide 4G through Jio's network; so we can expect a war between the telcos soon in a market like Andhra Pradesh & Telangana where Airtel & Idea is ruling because of strong data presence through 3G & 4G networks.
