Phicomm debuted in India with its flagship smartphone, the Passion 660 in June, at a price tag of Rs.10,999. The device has received a price cut of Rs. 2,000 today, which means that it will now be retailing at Rs. 8,999 on Amazon.
To recap, the Passion 660 features a 5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, and is powered by 1.5 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The phone runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Phicomm’s in-house Expect UI 5.0 on top, and has 16GB internal storage, which can be further increased up to 64GB via microSD card. It sports a 13-megapixel primary camera with LED flash, Sony IMX214 sensor, along with a 5-megapixel selfie camera.
In terms of connectivity, the phone supports dual-SIM, 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and is backed by a 2,300 mAh battery. The phone measures 139.5 x 69 x 7.4mm and weighs 110 grams. The price cut has brought the Passion 660 under competition with devices such as YU Yureka Plus, Lenovo K3 Note, Huawei Honor 4X, and many more. The main drawback in the Passion 660 is that it still runs Android 4.0 KitKat, while most of its rival devices come with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
