January 2025:

In a January 2025 address to students, speaking at the 12th Convocation of Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Ambani advised using AI as a powerful tool for learning and critical thinking, cautioning against relying solely on machine intelligence without human judgment.

Speaking on the role of AI in education, Ambani urged students to embrace the technology as a tool but not at the cost of independent thinking.

"Talking of artificial intelligence, I have a piece of advice for young students. You must be good at using AI as a tool of learning, but do not give up your own critical thinking," he said.

Emphasising the importance of human intelligence over artificial intelligence, he added, "ChatGPT ka zaroorat se istemal karo, lekin yaad rakho, artificial buddhi se nahi, khud ki buddhi se hum aage badhenge aur aap aage badh sakte hain (Use ChatGPT when necessary, but remember — progress comes from your own intelligence, not artificial intelligence).”

April 2025:

In a statement on April 25, 2025, commenting on the consolidated results for the quarter/year ended March 31, 2025, Ambani, on the AI aspect, said: "Jio continues to invest in innovation, focusing on AI capabilities and next-generation technologies, which will shape India’s digital future."

June 2025:

At Reliance’s 48th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in August 2025, Ambani emphasized that AI is central to Reliance’s transformation into a deep-tech enterprise and not just a side project. He stated that the company has created a new wholly owned subsidiary—Reliance Intelligence—specifically to accelerate AI adoption and innovation across businesses.

Ambani said:

"Breakthroughs in Artificial Intelligence and allied Deep Technologies have already begun to boost productivity, efficiency, and human potential to unimaginable levels.

Owing to its miraculous power, AI can now be called the new Kamdhenu – the divine wish-fulfilling cow of our age.

And we are developing AI as a new growth engine, besides embedding AI across all our businesses – from retail to telecom, from energy to entertainment.

As Reliance approaches the close of its Golden Decade, we rededicate ourselves to the rapid realisation of this Indian Dream. We are resolutely transforming our operating model to become a Deep-Tech company with advanced manufacturing capabilities. We are making every one of our businesses AI-native, positioning them for hyper-growth."

Mentioning five major achievements of Jio that were previously unimaginable, Ambani, quoting the fifth, said: "Jio's nationwide 5G rollout, the fastest in the world, has laid the foundation for the AI revolution in India."

Unveiling plans for the future, which according to Ambani are even more ambitious and based on five assurances, the fourth assurance he gave was about AI: "Jio will herald the AI revolution in India. Our motto is AI Everywhere for Everyone."

Reliance Intelligence

"I am proud that Artificial Intelligence is already at the heart of Reliance's transformation into a Deep-Tech enterprise. To bring even more focus and speed to this agenda, today, it is my great pleasure and privilege to announce the formation of a new wholly-owned subsidiary called Reliance Intelligence," Ambani said.

He added:

“This new company is conceived with four clear missions:

First, to house India's next-generation AI infrastructure. During the same AGM and in follow-up statements, Ambani reiterated Reliance’s multi-partner AI strategy: tie-ups with Google Cloud and Meta to build out AI infrastructure and services in India. He framed these alliances as a way to bring global AI capabilities to India at scale, leveraging Jio’s massive 5G network and Reliance’s infrastructure.

Partnership with Google:

"Today, I am delighted to announce a deeper, holistic partnership for AI with our long-standing partner, Google. Through this partnership, we are marrying Reliance's proven capability to build world-class assets and execute at India's scale with Google's leading cloud and AI technologies, so that developers, start-ups, and enterprises can innovate faster, operate more securely, and reach every corner of India."

Partnership with Meta:

"Today, I am also pleased to unveil a new, India-focused AI joint venture with our close partner, Meta. Together, we want to pair the power of open-source AI with Reliance's deep domain knowledge across industries. That is why, we are forming a dedicated joint venture with Meta to combine open models and tools with our execution in Energy, Retail, Telecom, Media, and Manufacturing, and to deliver sovereign, enterprise-ready AI for India."

Thanking Mark Zuckerberg on the partnership, Ambani concluded saying: "Our joint venture with Meta is a game-changer for Indian enterprises and for sectors of national importance. It will bring transparency, portability, and community-driven progress; enable sovereign hosting and governance within India; and lower inference costs while raising safety and trust, so that adoption accelerates from pilot to production across the economy."

Humanoid Robotics

“Another exciting frontier for AI is Robotics, especially Humanoid Robotics. Astonishing advances are taking place in this field. Intelligent automation will transform factories into adaptive production systems, warehouses into autonomous supply chains, and hospitals into centres of precision care.

We are investing to make India a leader in human-centric robotics powered by AI, creating new types of industries and services, new types of agriculture, new types of jobs, and attractive new opportunities for our youth," Ambani said while speaking during the 48th AGM.

He said: "A decade ago, digital services became a new growth engine for Reliance. Now, the opportunity before us with AI is just as large, if not larger.

Jio promised and delivered digital everywhere and for every Indian. Similarly, Reliance Intelligence promises to deliver AI everywhere for every Indian.

With Reliance Intelligence and our strong partnerships, green infrastructure, and India-first governance, we are building for the next decade with confidence and ambition. I am excited about what we will achieve, and I look forward to keeping you updated on our progress in the coming years."

December 2025:

India Must Build Self-Reliance in Key Sectors

Speaking at the 13th convocation of Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), where he is the President of the university’s governing body, Ambani said India must now aim to outperform global powers by building world-class universities and leadership in frontier technologies, including artificial intelligence, new energy such as nuclear fusion, space, biotechnology, and life sciences, according to a Moneycontrol report dated December 11, 2025.

Integration With Science & Industry

India needs greater collaboration between the country’s scientific and business communities, said Mukesh Ambani, citing the need for more “bridge builders” to transform the country into a deep tech superpower, according to a Fortune India report dated December 21, 2025.

Ambani was reportedly speaking at an event to honour Raghunath Mashelkar on the launch of his book titled More from Less for More: Innovation’s Holy Grail, co-authored with Shushil Borde, Head, Reliance Innovation Leadership Center.

Ambani outlined his vision for India's technological future, stating: “India, where AI, quantum, synthetic biology, advanced materials, space technologies, healthcare solutions, and new agricultural practices are invented through the joint efforts of our scientists, enterprises with the right government policies, and our young entrepreneurs always create ‘less for more.’”

Ambani shared a crucial lesson learned from Mashelkar: “Technology without compassion is just a machine. Technology with compassion becomes a social movement.”

He elaborated: “The world is full of intelligent people. Now, the world also has entered a new era of artificial intelligence. And of course, we need AI. We must become world leaders in AI. But above all, we need empathy and compassion even more.”

“By combining intelligence with empathy, prosperity with purpose, India can present a new model of development to the rest of the world,” Ambani reportedly added.

Mukesh Ambani Unveils Draft Reliance AI Manifesto

On December 30, 2025, Ambani unveiled an AI manifesto within Reliance aimed at boosting productivity, innovation, and deep integration of AI workflows across the company.

He stressed that AI should augment human work—“It is not about replacing people… it is about raising standards and releasing our organisation’s collective potential.”

He encouraged employees across Reliance’s businesses to contribute ideas on AI use cases spanning telecom (Jio), retail, energy, and services to unlock large productivity gains.

Quotes as reported in various media outlets, including PTI and Moneycontrol:

Calling artificial intelligence "the most consequential technological development in human history," Ambani reportedly said the oil-to-yarn and retail-to-telecom conglomerate aims to lead India's AI revolution, just as it led the country's digital transformation.

“The world has so far seen only the tip of the iceberg of its possibilities, but is already in awe of it. Along with other breakthrough technologies, AI has the power which, if wisely used, can solve many of the most complex problems facing humankind,” he reportedly said in a detailed message addressed to employees.

Affordable AI for every Indian, to transform every aspect of the economy and life in India,” he said, describing it as Reliance’s core resolve, or sankalp.

"At Reliance, we have embarked on a path to transform ourselves into an AI-native deep-tech company with advanced manufacturing capabilities," he said. "To pursue this resolve, we have prepared a draft of the Reliance AI Manifesto. This draft is a guide to an action plan."

The manifesto's Part I focuses on internal transformation, positioning AI not as a technology project but as a new way of working.

"I believe that just as we can drive 10x improvement in velocity, efficiency, quality, and outcomes by AI-transforming our workflow. We can also achieve a 10x impact on India through our businesses and philanthropic initiatives," he reportedly said.

Describing the document as a draft action guide rather than a slogan, Ambani called on all employees to submit ideas between January 10 and 26, saying the manifesto would become a shared commitment to "build a New Reliance and a New India."

"Let us begin - together," he said.

Detailing Part I of the manifesto, Ambani reportedly said Reliance will embed AI deeply into the way work is done across the organisation, focusing on outcomes rather than functions. Core workflows - including procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, hire-to-retire, and plant-to-port - will be redesigned to eliminate manual handoffs, close "digital breaks" and enable real-time visibility and decision-making.

'This is not a technology project. This is a new way of working," he reportedly said, adding that AI will be used to "remove friction, eliminate repeated manual effort, and improve decisions - while staying safe, trusted and compliant." He stressed that AI would augment, not replace, people, noting: "It is not about replacing people. It is about raising standards and releasing our organisation's collective potential."

Part II of the manifesto outlines Reliance's ambition to act as a catalyst for India's AI-led transformation through its businesses and philanthropic initiatives.

Ambani reportedly highlighted opportunities ranging from AI-powered discovery of new materials and green energy solutions to breakthroughs in healthcare, education and inclusive financial services.

He also highlighted the role of Reliance Foundation, asking how AI could further enhance its work in healthcare, education, rural transformation, disaster mitigation, culture and conservation, while reflecting the group’s “We Care” philosophy through the development of “caring AI systems.”

He also encouraged exploration of indigenous AI hardware, robotics, and energy-efficient systems to advance India's technological self-reliance, underscoring that AI at Reliance must remain aligned with its "We Care" philosophy and deliver societal impact alongside business growth.

“This manifesto will be our shared commitment… to build a New Reliance and a New India of our dreams,” Ambani reportedly said, urging colleagues to begin the journey together.
