MTNL Enrolled One Lakh 3G Mobile Subscriber In Delhi and MumbaiMahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL), India’s first 3G mobile service operator and leading GSM Mobile service operator of Mumbai and Delhi are getting overwhelming response on its 3G Mobile service in both telecom circle.

MTNL has announced that with in last two months MTNL enrolled 1,30,000 3G mobile service subscriber in Delhi and Mumbai service area. MTNL is also targeting a four-fold jump in its 3G Mobile subscriber base to 6 lakh by March 2010 through full fledged roll-out of its UMTS network across all the corner of Mumbai and Delhi-NCR telecom circles.




According to the MTNL's chairman and managing director RSP Sinha about the milestones “3G has come as an opportunity for us to take lead over our competitors. By November 8, we had added more than One lakh subscribers in Delhi and Mumbai circle , I expect by the end March 2010 we will have a 3G subscriber base of about six lakh.”

Mr Sinha added that “Today, we have a subscriber base of over 44 lakh in 2G GSM mobile segment and account for 15 per cent of the market. Our revenue from mobile services is in the region of Rs 850 crore.
