As expected, after teasing the Moto M launch for some time, Lenovo has finally launched the phone in India for Rs. 15,999. The device will be up for sale in Gold and Silver colour options on Flipkart, starting from midnight.
The Moto M is a metal-clad smartphone with a fingerprint sensor placed on the back. It comes integrated with Dolby Atmos technology for better multimedia experience and water repellent nano coating for protection against external damages caused by water splash. It features a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p Super AMOLED screen and is powered by a 2.2 GHz Octa-core MediaTek Helio P15 chipset paired with Mali T860MP2 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It packs in 32GB internal storage, expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The smartphone sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and phase detection autofocus (PDAF), clubbed with an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
For connectivity, it supports Hybrid dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, USB Type-C, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS, and NFC. A 3,050 mAh battery with Turbocharging backs the smartphone. We were expecting to see Android 7.0 Nougat on the Moto M, but sadly it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. Going by the specs, the Moto M has nothing exceptional to offer.
The Moto M is launched with a slew of inaugural offers such as Flat Rs. 1000 off for Citi Bank Credit Cards, Rs. 2000 off on exchange with old mobile, Rs. 1000 off on Moto Pulse 2 Headset (available at Rs. 499 after discount) on the purchase of Moto M, and EMI options starting at Rs. 776 per month for the Moto M.
