India's National Telecom Backbone and leading GSM Mobile service operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) get great response on its 3G mobile service in Punjab telecom circle.It has announced that with in a couple of months BSNL enrolled 5000 3G mobile service subscriber in Punjab telecom circle.
In Punjab, BSNL initially started 3G service in just few cities like Mohali , Panchkula , Chandigarh , Amritasar, Jalandhar, Kapurthala ,Bhatinda, Mansa, Nawansahir , Pathankot , Hoshiarpur Gurdaspur ,Ropar and Ludhiana. BSNL bearing fruit as the scheme is drawing a good response and more than 5,000 Subscriber have gone in for the 3G Service subscription in last 3 months since the launching of the service in various area of Punjab.
The operator is also getting a steady stream of inquiries regarding the 3G Mobile service. It has set an ambitious target of 100,000 3G subscribers in Punjab circle by March 2010.According the the BSNL the acceptance of 3G service will increase exponentially when the services are available across the state.
The Video calling is the most popular things amongst all the 3G mobile customers of Punjab. With 3G Mobile service, Subscribers are enjoying video-streaming applications such as live TV, movies, games, video calls and high-speed data. A new dimension has thus been added to services such as Internet VOIP calling, video-conferencing and other data-sharing at broadband speed.
BSNL provide high-speed access to data and voice and video services over its 3G UMTS network. The subscriber of 3G service will get high-speed mobile broadband network, offering data speed of at least 2 mbps. The normal GPRS/EDGE mobile offers speeds of about 56 kbps. In 3G services, it would take four seconds for transmission of a normal file while in 2G and 2.5G, a normal file takes five and one minutes respectively. It is thus 20 times faster than other mobile Internet services.
