4G LTE device penetration is still low at 1.61% in India: Nokia Networks study

Call drops on the higher end this quarter, mobile and landline subscribers had to spend long hours waiting to connect to customer care : TRAI

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has pointed out that the mobile telephone services in the country is deteriorating as call drops have increased seven fold in 2G networks and by 65 percent on 3G network in the first quarter of 2015. TRAI telecom subscriber data for May 2015, landline connections continue to decline

TRAI has released telecom subscriber data for the month of May 2015. The total telecom subscriber base was at 1002.05 million and overall tele-density was at 79.67% at the end of May 2015. In the month, total of 2.34 million new subscribers were added generating a monthly growth rate of 0.23%.
