INDIA at last set for 3G roll-out

Follow Us

Already the long-delayed auctions for 3G spectrum will be over by end of this month.Once this is over,Mobile 3G services are expected to be fully rolled out by March 2009.

Some of the more cautious observers of Indian telecoms firmly believe that the delay in 3G rollout is because the Indian Government is keen to protect BSNL and MTNL the public sector operators. This means no royalties to private companies.MTNL would launch 3G services by mid-December while BSNL would offer the services by the middle of January.
