Sunday Talk: What’s Your Pick Between Jio Yearly and Short-Term Prepaid Plans?

Reliance Jio has introduced a new prepaid plan after nearly ten months. As always, the telco has introduced the best yearly prepaid plan in the industry. Yes, I am speaking about the newly launched Rs 1,699 annual plan. Unlike the other plans that we have talked about here, this new plan comes with a long-term validity, as much as a year-long, but unlike the earlier launched yearly prepaid plans from the company, this new plan comes with daily data FUP. I have previously talked about how Reliance Jio has changed the face of the industry by introducing plans which have been bundled in an entirely different way.

Plans with data validity which stretched up to a year’s validity were mostly unheard of before Reliance Jio. However, Reliance Jio has definitely changed the trend for good. Now subscribers of Reliance Jio can avail plans which are valid for as much as a year. I think that this is a good thing, given that people are becoming more and more dependent on data.

Further, it is also my opinion that long-term plans offer a better overall experience for the user since a single recharge allows them to go on for days without bothering for lapsing validity, less talk time or other worries which used to concern the subscribers in the pre-Reliance Jio years. Now Reliance Jio seems to be building upon that planning structure.

The new prepaid plan of Rs 1,699 offers 547.5GB data in the entire validity period of 365 days or one year. The rest of the benefits of this plan remain the same as other Reliance Jio plans which ship free unlimited calling, 100 SMS benefit per day and a free subscription to Reliance Jio applications.
