Postpaid or Prepaid? Which one should I choose in the current market scenario? If choosing a telecom operator is one of the biggest questions for users, then another question that's often popping up in their minds is which connection they should choose- Prepaid or a Postpaid connection. And that's not something they created, it's created by the telecom operators itself. Reliance Jio, as we always say has changed the entire landscape of Indian telecom sector with its aggressive pricing strategy and innovative daily data offering, both the points which Indian telecom subscribers aren't aware of before the entrance of Jio.
In the current market scenario, a postpaid connection is required for users who don't care about their daily data expiry and of course, private telcos are offering data rollover scheme except for Jio; These are the only reasons according to me for choosing a postpaid connection right now. But prepaid plans are now coming with a whopping 6.5GB data benefit per day (Jio's Rs 509 plan), 6GB data per day with BSNL's Rs 444 plan and so on. Although the additional data offer on both Jio and BSNL networks will be for a limited period, it's something worth noticing as the tariff plans come with a validity of two months.
Reliance Jio even stepped its foot into the postpaid segment to increase it ARPU, but incumbents are less worried about the threat posed by the new entrant, and they should be because their plans offer additional benefits such as data rollover, free Amazon Prime subscription on Airtel network, priority customer support from Vodafone & Idea Cellular, and others.
Am a postpaid user on Airtel network with over 250GB data stored in my account (thanks to data rollover facility) and I have no plans in switching to a prepaid connection. And again, only because of the data rollover and no DAILY data limit. What about you? Which connection will you choose in the current market scenario? Let's talk in the comments below.
