India's second largest telecom operator, Vodafone India has launched new first recharge plans to take on the incumbent operator Reliance Jio. According to our sources, Vodafone has launched three new first recharge plans of Rs 445, Rs. 353, and Rs. 145.
While the FR 445 is for both 4G and 3G customers, rest of the two newly launched plans (i.e. Rs. 353 and Rs. 145) are specially designed for 3G customers. Diving into the details of the three plans, the FR 445 plan gives 1GB data per day for 70 days for 4G handset users. It also provides unlimited voice calling benefits to any network across the country.
Coming to the new 3G plans, the FR 445 offers unlimited calls to any network across India, but the data is limited to just 2GB for 35 days. Under the FR 353 plan also you get unlimited calls to any network across the country, but Vodafone is offering only 2GB data valid for 28 days. Lastly, there's the FR 145 plan which provides unlimited Vodafone to Vodafone calls and 1GB data for 28 days.
As compared with other plans from Vodafone, these new plans also come with some downsides. The voice calls on all the three plans are limited to just 300 minutes per day and 1200 minutes per week.
Our sources also claimed that these schemes are already effective on a pan India basis. These new plans from Vodafone will go against the Jio's Dhan Dhana Dhan offer, and they almost match Jio's offers. Jio is currently offering unlimited calling along with 1GB data per day for 84 days at Rs. 408 and 2GB data per day for 84 days at Rs. 608.
Airtel also has similar new user plans of FRC 449 and FRC 293. The FRC 449 plan gives 1GB data per day with unlimited calling for 70 days, whereas the 293 plan gives unlimited Airtel to Airtel calls free for 70 days along with 1GB data per day. Also, both Airtel's and Jio’s Dhan Dhana Dhan offer are valid only for 4G users.
