Telecom service provider Bharti Airtel has commercially launched its 4G services (also called LTE) in Sri City in Andhra Pradesh. With this, the company claims to become the first telecom services provider to introduce superfast 4G speeds in Sri City, thus bringing the fast emerging business hub onto the Digital Superhighway.
Venkatesh Vijayraghavan, Chief Executive Officer, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Bharti Airtel, said, “The launch is in line with our philosophy of empowering millions by delivering high speed wireless broadband – a vision that we share with the Government of Andhra Pradesh. We recently launched “Project Leap”, our national network transformation drive, and look forward to augmenting our 4G presence to more regions like Sri City and deliver a compelling network experience for our customers now and in years to come”.
Airtel 4G is available to customers across a range of smart devices, including mobile phones, dongles, 4G hotspots and Wi-Fi dongles.
It has launched India’s first 4G network in Kolkata in April 2012. Today, it is providing 4G services in over 300 towns across India. To avail Airtel 4G, customers can walk into their Airtel Store and switch to a 4G SIM.
