BSNL the largest PSU and fifth largest operator by subscriber base has revised the tariff of its unified 2G/3G data packs for its prepaid subscribers in Karnataka circle.
The operator has withdrawn certain packs with immediate effect and replaced them with new promotional STVs for a period of 90 days starting from today.
The details of the data packs which have been withdrawn are as follows:

The free talk time in the vouchers above will be credited in the main balance of the subscriber. On exhaustion of the data benefit, base data tariff will be applicable. Unused data will be carried forward to the following month if recharge of next data STV is done during the validity period of existing data pack. At the end of the promotional period of 90 days, BSNL will make the vouchers permanent depending on the response from subscribers.
Last month we reported how BSNL has revised the postpaid tariff across India. BSNL has shown positive subscriber growth in recent times, the operator added 8 lakh new subscribers in a month's time after it launched free national roaming in June this year.

BSNL has been struggling to keep up with the competition from the private sector. However, efforts are now being made for revival of the company, whose losses stood at Rs.7,020 crore in 2013-14. The losses for first six months of 2014-15 (April-September) were Rs.3,786 crore.
