Airtel Digital TV has shown a remarkable growth during the fiscal year ended on March 2015. The operator has gained a net subscriber base of 10.07 million as of March 2015, showing a growth rate of 16.33% over the previous fiscal year. Around 1.06 million new customers have opted for Airtel direct-to-home (DTH) in the fiscal. Overall, the operating profit of the service provider has raised at 102%.
The number of channels Airtel offers has also increased, to 460 channels, including 27 high-definition channels and four international channels and three interactive services. In the previous fiscal period, the operator used to provide 400 channels, including 19 HD channels. The service area of the operator now spans across 639 districts in India.
Moreover, there is an increase in cumulative investment when compared to the previous year. Airtel has surged its investment in DTH sector to Rs. 54.11 billion from Rs. 46.47 billion of the previous year. The revenue has increased to Rs. 24. 76 billion, at around 19% rise. The previous revenue was Rs. 20.77 billion.
Airtel Digital TV’s EBITDA margin for the fiscal stays at Rs 675.2 crore (Rs 6.75 billion), rising at 27.3 percent, which shows a strong growth rate. The average revenue per use is around Rs. 214, a Rs. 13 increase when compared to last year.
