Uninor, one of the fastest growing telecom operators announced today that it has crossed the significant 25 million GSM Mobile subscribers milestone in India and becomes 8th largest Mobile service provider in its cumulatively 13 telecom circle.
Uninor is today commercially present in 13 circles that together account for 75% of India’s population.It has already deployed over 25,000 towers and is augmenting this network further in several circles.
Uninor launched its GSM Mobile service in 8 telecom circles in December 2009. With the launch of an additional 5 telecom circles the company reached its current commercial foot print of 13 circles in June 2010. The 25 million milestone was thus reached in 18 months of the first circle launch and within 12 months of completing its current commercial footprint.
With the subscriber base (as on 30 April 2011) in UP East (40,52,377), UP West (29,96,857) Bihar & Jharkhand (28,11,398) and West Bengal (23,81,818) have emerged as the strongest circles for Uninor, together contributing almost 48% of the total subscription base. These are followed by Andhra Pradesh (23,42,188), Maharashtra and Goa (2197374) and Gujarat (19,64,986).
Speaking on this achievement, Mr. Sigve Brekke, MD, Uninor stated “Our long-term ambition is to establish ourselves among the top 6 operators in each of our circles. There is some distance to go till we reach that goal, but we are encouraged by the progress we are making.

Uninor is been offering a really good services with Vayadi Pack where we got 2 months free calls to Uninor numbers. I started buying 2, 3, then 4 connections and give to my frens where we get 2 call each other 4 free! My only complaint is that they don’t have enough TV advertising. Lots of ppl dont know about the product. But I feel if more ppl know, then they wont give such good deal!

I’ve Lost My GPRS Setting Of My Uninor Connection to Access Internet in My PC. Can You Tell Me Which is The Way That I Can Get The Internet Setting For My PC?
Raghu June 19, 2011 at 6:18 pm
@Steve
so please do one thing put a mail to Nodal and Appellate Authority of Uninor where there are no signals they will be able to solve ur issue soon. i think it will be better u send a message to them.
bharathkumara June 19, 2011 at 4:42 pm
@bharathkumara
based on amplification and frequency.. they can gave much coverage.. with one tover..
bharathkumara June 19, 2011 at 4:34 pm
arjun… main is amplification… when we send a light signal in ofc.. when it connects to one tover.. that tover start getting signal.. used some signal from that tover.. then it will forwarded signals to next tover with amplification… its continuously working on it.. with every tovers.. when the long distance ofc have a high power amplification with gain from server.. for some long distance ofc… then it also get low power.. but every 50 km we want a amplification.. for ofc…
Steve June 19, 2011 at 1:57 pm
i have not checked all the places but atleast were i work that is in margao and my home in dicarpali they have horrible network…were as others like airtel vodafone idea bsnl has got 95persent coverage.uninor also dont have proper coverage in most of the villages of goa…
Raghu June 19, 2011 at 1:05 pm
@Steve
yes i agree they have good services and plans. can u tell me in which all places it is not good in GOA just for information.
Steve June 19, 2011 at 12:24 pm
uninor has got very good service and plans but theire network is horrible in goa…
Arjun Chandrashekar June 19, 2011 at 12:24 pm

Bharath Can You Tell Me, If We Drag an OFC Cable Which We Connected To an Operational Tower Upto Some Maximum Distance Will It Give That Much Coverage?
Arjun Chandrashekar June 19, 2011 at 12:16 pm
Idea is Operating Under 900MHz BAND
Arjun Chandrashekar June 19, 2011 at 12:13 pm
@Amit.G
Amit I’m Saying That Aircel, Uninor and Docomo Needs To Deploy Additional BTS Instead Of Already Deployed Ones
Raghu June 19, 2011 at 12:01 pm
@Amit.G
what is the idea capacity in Karnataka. is it 900 mhz or 1800 mhz?
TREMERIN DSOUZA June 19, 2011 at 9:53 am
@Amit.G
DUDE WHAT’S YOUR PROBLEM? HE IS JUST ANALYZING THE NETWORK OF VARIOUS OPERATORS WHICH HELPS T.T READERS TO DETERMINE THE NETWORK COVERAGE AND OTHER ASPECTS OF AN OPERATOR.
Amit.G June 19, 2011 at 8:54 am
@Arjun chandrashekar
5. so do u think these new operators can earn that much revenue to overcome the costs incured?
6. 1800mhz band has souble the capacity of 900mhz but penetration very less so first operators should make sure that the capacity is utilized effectively.
uninor has more than 35towers in hubli but still its coverage is just 80% of city with many areas having just 2 bars. where as idea has 30towers with full signal strength in indoors also.
so this is the reason y operators wont deploy towers
Amit.G June 19, 2011 at 8:48 am
@arjun chandrashekar
Ur not correct in following aspects
1. Airtel operates under 900mhz band in karnataka and has 15000BTS in state.
2. To match the coverage of 900mhz operator an operator with 1800mhz has to deploy 2 towers for every 1 tower of 900mhz
3. since aircel, vodafne,uninor,TD are under 1800mhz they need to deploy almost 20000+ towers to match airtel/idea.
4. but to maintain 1 tower it costs rs70000+ per month and installation cost is 15-20lakhs(shared)
bharathkumara June 19, 2011 at 8:22 am
aircel is getting inetnet for low payments. thats y they are giving for low tariff…
bharathkumara June 19, 2011 at 8:20 am
arjun. telecom analyser is not only work for signal.. they work with every part of server.. for frequesny signal into light signals to send vie fiber optic cable to tovers. that tover revert back the signals from light signals.. but in tover also amplifiers.. detectos.. filters is their.. then tover bandwidth start emits the signal to all mobile subscribers.. in this programs.. very complications is their.. server is main important.. server is maintained telecom comapny.. thats only a that telecom server.. telecom server is connected to main server is in delhi.. and based on internet.. in every state telecom companies what they getting internet from internet companies.. they are gaving. based on they paying.. they gave a price for gprs to customers.. airtel,vodafone,tata,reliance,bsnl… they are have their isp.. but from channai bsnl is gaving internet to all india.. then aircel also getting low internet.. that y they are gaving low tariff for customers.. tata also is one of the biggest internet and telecom provider.. that y they are gaving low tariff.. telecom analyser is working in various field.. he want to analyze what is going on araound our telecom industries…
Arjun Chandrashekar June 19, 2011 at 7:44 am
@Amit.G To Make a Match With The Current or Old Cellular Operators(Karnataka) Coverage Map, The Following New Cellular Operators Have To Deploy The Additional BTS.
1.Aircel Needs To Deploy 8200+BTS To Cover Entire Karnataka.
2.Uninor Needs To Deploy 11,250+BTS To Cover Entire Karnataka.
3.TD Needs To Deploy 4,350+ BTS To Cover Entire Karnataka.

I appreciate that ur doing that job but dude telecom analyser doesn do wat u r doing, u analyse the people’s perception about the brand, analyse the future trends, analyse the market saying in what way it is depended, now in india telecom has just become like FMCG, so analyse how to generate enough opportunities here. only checkn signals is not fair buddy, tat wrk is done by ntwrk testing enginer of vendor companies like NSN,ZTE etc. think frm all sides

Once I Went To Maharashtra and I Found AirTel Has Not Having Proper Indoor Coverage In Maharashtra. Even The Villages Like Bhambla, Towns Like Aurangabad, AirTel Doesn’t Having Indoor Coverage.

sorry anwar.. it based on zero network connectivity whn the server is full in full of amplification in mobile when u get low signal.. that y its used as in some of the mobile.. they can amplifies if u get zero network.. with vioce clarity…
Ujjal June 18, 2011 at 12:32 am
Uninor has great gprs service. 6 gb data only for 90 rs. The speed is awesome. I have downloaded crysis 2 from torrent with 20-30 KBPS.
What Uninor lacks is local off-net call. There is no 1p/2s tariff.
Kapil June 17, 2011 at 11:25 pm
@Anwar Kacchi
Yes it is the band. Airtel, vodafone, reliance, idea, mtnl use 1800mhz/2.7g/edge, tata docomo, aircel, loop mobile 900mhz/2.5g/gprs.
Anwar Kacchi June 17, 2011 at 11:17 pm
use Nokia E5 Or Any who supports EDGE 32 Class And 3G with 10.2mbps speed
Anwar Kacchi June 17, 2011 at 11:01 pm
its becoz Its has 1800mhz spectrum….
Airtel Also has 1800mhz network in maharastra…
In 1800mhz u can call or acces GPRS till the zero network conectivity its work best in indoore

its definately a good operator but their network expansion is very slow. according to my observation they havent expanded their network since the the first phase of their launch.
Vaibhav Kale June 17, 2011 at 8:22 pm
From the launch of Uninor in Maharashtra Circle, I’m observing that the expansion of the network is worst atleast in Thane District, don’t know about other areas. The areas covered while the commercial launch are only the areas covered with Uninor coverage till today.
Amit Deb Biswas June 17, 2011 at 7:46 pm
Uninor network superb quality!! U can call or access gprs even in 1/7 bar!!

Amit.G June 17, 2011 at 5:38 pm

within this year uninor is going to launch in 2 states of north india but dont know which one. u can expect full fledge roll out of services across india only when 2G scam is finished. still uninor is in fear of being terminated!!
Gourav June 17, 2011 at 4:31 pm
When will uninor launch their services in haryana?
Amit.G June 17, 2011 at 3:51 pm
@Arjun
uninor’s coverage is prettey good say they have covered 80% of bangalore city but still there are few blind spots!!! i have stopped using uninor as my main number so i dont carry it much with me, using it for on-net 38pack!
Surtej June 17, 2011 at 3:40 pm

I am one of 25 million. In kolkata i keep on getting 190Kbps surfing speed and download 30 to 60 kbps on my Xperia x10.
Arif June 17, 2011 at 1:15 pm
@Amit.
Which handset supports EDGE class 32 or 33.
Please give me model numbers in Nokia, Samsung and BlackBerry.
Amit June 17, 2011 at 12:50 pm
@NAWAZ
download speed depends on no. of simultaneous user accessing the Internet service, as you can see that u got max speed with uninor as they don’t have much subscriber with them and all their channels are free but once their subscriber increases their quality of service will go down.
all one more thing: u can get even better speed in uninor if u use handset with EDGE class 32 or 33.
Arjun Chandrashekar June 17, 2011 at 12:44 pm
@Amit.G How’s Uninor Coverage in Bangalore and ROKTK?
NAWAZ June 17, 2011 at 12:27 pm

Arjun Chandrashekar June 17, 2011 at 11:44 am
UNINOR IS AN EXCELLENT AND QUALITY OPERATOR. EVEN THE SIGNAL IS TOO LOW YOU CAN ABLE TO MAKE A CALL. OTHER OPERATORS INCLUDING BSNL HAVE TO IMPROVE THEIR QUALITY
s.santra June 17, 2011 at 11:29 am
Uninor is very good operator. Their network coverage is superb. Their network, covers almost everything except my number…
