Tata Docomo service is pathetic. By mistake I activated the RoamingSTV 252 of TataDocomo in my prepaid mobile (2 months back). Although the balance in that voucher (Rs.252) is over and current balance is ZERO, I am not able to do any further topup / recharge online. The response from the service agents is that the RoamingSTV is active and I will not be able to topup/recharge using Online. I am not able to understand the logic behind this. Neither the service people are able to reset my plan and allow topup online. Net result, I am having a prepaid with zero balance for the past 2 months and unable to top up / recharge. Highly idiotic logic and pathetic service by TataDocomo.

  • Saurabh July 15, 2013 8:57 am, 8:57 AM

The only + Tata have these days is they are offering 1GB 3G data @Rs.91-97 across different 3G circles but the problem is, 3G is available at less than 15% areas in 9 circles and auto-disconnection keeping users away.

P.S- Pack available only thru USSD @ *141#.

  • Adil July 13, 2013 7:13 am, 7:13 AM

Til were I remember the last best plan which Tata did give is stv 250 after that all shit.

  • SS July 12, 2013 10:22 pm, 10:22 PM

Yuppi!!!!!! that adds a new plan in the flop list of TATA docomo. No, not docomo because i feel bad insulting the telco giant of Japan.

Nothing new, it makes clear that dumbass control the management of docomo.

What to do! BSNL has improved in recent years but docomo is declining day by day.

  • Sathish, Gobichettipalayam. July 12, 2013 8:02 pm, 8:02 PM

Tata DoCoMo as like pan India operator; but where is the own towers across India.

So this is very very cheapest roaming plan as we looks into availability of own Towers.

  • samrat July 12, 2013 7:26 pm, 7:26 PM

It seems like Docomo have hired illiterate MBA executives. What a stupid plan. Even a 10th pass student can make a better roaming plan than this. First their network is poorest in india. Pathetic customer care service. They are very rude, stubborn and careless. Docomo shud immediately withdraw their services. I can guarantee no one is going to opt this plan. Shame Docomo.

    • S.Sudhakar July 12, 2013 10:01 pm, 10:01 PM

      Well said.

      + countless for this post.

      In Tamilnadu :

Docomo and reliance GSM – no / shameless customer care, no / improper own network coverage

BSNL – limited customer care, good coverage, medium to more costly network (but worth it because of good coverage), good services (2G and 3G data).

Aircel , airtel, vodafone – limited or average customer care, good services but costly network, medium coverage

Idea – limited or worst customer care, cheap tariffs only for outgoing local calls, costly for SMS and data, worst coverage in the outskirts of all towns and cities.

Flash back networks (I have used them before when it was there in Tamilnadu) :

Uninor : shameless customer care, worst 2G GPRS speed, cheap calls, medium coverage

Videocon : shameless customer care, cheapest calling plans, average to good GPRS speed (16 to 20 KB/s) worst coverage when approaching the outskirts of all towns. We all want you back with cheap tariffs.

        • S.Sudhakar July 14, 2013 10:49 am, 10:49 AM

Only BSNL is updating its STVs and its benefits regularly. Airtel has not mentioned them in its website.

  • singh July 12, 2013 6:58 pm, 6:58 PM

I am port out requested after this roaming plan port from tata to air tel today 12.7.2013 air tel 194 for 180 days free incoming in national roaming why using customer for tata indicome in delhi please requested all TT member in case use of tata port out other company for any other for your choice

  • Purnendu July 12, 2013 4:15 pm, 4:15 PM

What an Offer….Dont know who is preparing Offers for Tata.
I am using Tata from last 9 years, Tata was aloways well known for its low tariff, infact before 1.5 years Tata was the only service provider who offered free Roaming across nation with Recharge voucher Rs 46.
Tata was always an admirable company, but dont know why they are unable to understand the current strategy of the service providers to retain their customers. Also service is getting worst day by day.
an advice to Tata , Please see BSNL innovative Roam free vouchers.

  • Saurabh July 12, 2013 3:44 pm, 3:44 PM

Is it a plan or a new kind of strategy by Tata Docomo to indirectly tell customers to port-out from their network? I understand that Tata’s second innings in telecom sector has also failed but it doesn’t mean you start axing your own foot. Recently NTT Docomo said that they are not going to exit their stake in TD and they want to continue but from Tata’s strategy in last one year, it is hard to understand which way this company is really going? They have coverage issues everywhere yet they are pricing plans like the established ones. They have made 2G/3G Internet service a headache for consumers. Holding 3G license in 9 circles but no expansion since 2011. So really hard to understand what the management is thinking of? Future is not bright at all for them if they keep going this way. It would be better if they sell 3G airwaves to AVoID as holding and wasting it won’t help anyone. Mr. Kapil Sibbal said that M & A rules will be there by end of July, 2013. I hope some companies take steps that are forward looking instead of this lackluster attitude they currently have.

BTW I have recharged my TD number for Rs.10 only in last 239 days not fulfilling the condition of Rs.100 minimum recharge in 180 days yet my number is active.

The news that can dishearten Tata is that their ARPUs have fallen to as low as Rs.52 in some areas and active users are declining day by day. This company seriously needs a re-look at their business strategy or they should also go Aircel’s way which shut down business in 9 circles in last 1 year. 😀

    • Venkat July 12, 2013 4:02 pm, 4:02 PM

      Completely agree with you friend.

      • sushant July 12, 2013 4:32 pm, 4:32 PM

hmmm. Aircel is already shut down operation in MP. but why they are not selling allotted spectrum to other telecom company like uninor

  • sushant July 12, 2013 3:30 pm, 3:30 PM

yes totally fail to provide good service. when i ashked this same question to CCE then they told it is good for you that your tariff plan is without voucher 1.25p/sec in roaming incoming. so i asked 152 voucher for what. then he said i dont know this is new voucher. and 252 is costly. Reliance is batter then all other.. but Still uninor is sleeping..

  • saroj July 12, 2013 3:23 pm, 3:23 PM

Tata docomo time is over. what a useless plan is launching.no where network . voice clarity is so poor.now tata docomo will see all the customer will go for BSNL or AVOID.

  • Tharun George July 12, 2013 3:22 pm, 3:22 PM

I don’t understand Roaming plan Rs 152. Normal roaming charges without any pack is 1.25p/sec for incoming and local call rate at 1.5p/s. What does this pack actually gives? Convert to min tariff for Rs 152?

  • sujai July 12, 2013 2:47 pm, 2:47 PM

    tata must be joking ;

by default roaming i/c is 1.25p/sec in tata network and 75ps in other network

then why to rc for 152

  • tremerin dsouza July 12, 2013 2:42 pm, 2:42 PM

what rubbish plans, you pay rs152 and still no free roaming such useless unworthy plans.

  • Srikapardhi July 12, 2013 2:40 pm, 2:40 PM

    Utter flop –

152 plan – No freebies , atleast some free seconds or sms or data will make it look ok for such hefty price tag for 60 days aka 2 months.
No incoming free , No per second tariff

    coming to

252 plan which is 100+ of the first plan, incoming is given unlimited free with the same benefit and validity, which is again a mindless plan.

Was waiting for some innovation even if price tag is high with free min or sms or even reduction in sms tariff, but now this seems to be really utterflop plan in my view.

Not expected this after many days of RTP war by this innovator.

  • Rajesh SINGLA July 12, 2013 2:39 pm, 2:39 PM

  • anurag sengar July 12, 2013 2:26 pm, 2:26 PM

i have one doubt. is the free roaming available only when roaming on tata docomo’s network only???
if so then its a total waste offer as its network is pathetic whie roaming…
