    WTF are You Given? TD Has To Setup More Number Of BTS in Most Of The States In India. Especially Because Of This TD, Most Of the Operators Had lost Their Revenues and Network Quality. And Some Of The Major Operators Falling Back To Install Towers

    what the hack is this .why they are are changing the the plans.In mangalore city 3G some what good. but in some other area . out side building we can access 3G service but not inside building.

    Buddy I m not an employee or agent of TD. I m a student of Delhi university pursuing MBA now. I am also not biased about any operators.
    My friend Vishwas must clear his doubts first. There are many operators those have gotten spectrum much earlier than TD couldnot launch their services yet. TD has already launched their services in all ares where they have spectrum. You can’t believe that in some areas they are operating on just 2.3 MHz spectrum which is below the initial start up spectrum 4.4 MHz. This is the major cause for their poor coverage and GPRS speed becoming slow day by day.
    The same case is also with Relaince GSM as they are also operating on mere 4.4 MHz spectrum but their management too is responsible for poor services. They have also huge subscriber base an awaiting additional spectrum in all areas.

    My dear friend doubt gets started from here, They might have launched services in circles but, coverage in cities, rural also come into consideration in the allotted circle. So not good in that.! Again comes Indoor coverage, again hands down, Next customer support which is more important but most failure in that field. Next knowledge of customer care executives, as per my knowledge its the worst in its class. They create different problems to each customers and every problem is unique, I can challenge you in that. The only operator who showed cunningness in short time. F#####g service ever… Big F######s. Looters

  • upen April 25, 2011 4:59 pm

    For sometime just forgot about the case of 2G and compare the performance of operators on 3G. All pvt operators those who have won 3G licenses in their respective ares have been allotted equal amount of spectrum. We can now compare it in better ways that which operator is more competitive and offering services at cheaper rate with more 3G coverage and with better speed.

    Its not fair to compare Tata Docomo to Vodafone or Airtel or even BSNL. They are sitting on 15-30 MHz of 2G spectrum (depending on Circle) and offering somewhat better services.
    As for Uninor, Aircel etc. …. they have lesser customers compared to Tata Docomo. So when their subscribers go up, they wont be able to provide good speed.

    Either Tata Docomo should get itself more spectrum from government somehow or quit telecom business altogether. Why should consumers suffer due to its incapability?
    Consumers are not bothered about who does how much politics. All consumers want is good service. If Tata Docomo is not able to get spectrum from government then till the time it gets it, it should stop adding additional consumers and serve current customers properly!

    100% AGREE. Why should customers take load of tension and politics within telecom industry on their head? We pay Tata Docomo to provide good service, not to take load on their problems!

    Bhai saahab ! spectrum is not easily getable thing and could not be taken from the govt anytime.It is a limited and scarce resource which needs to be auctioned and utilised wisely. You must go through 2G scam in details to figure out all these things. Only then you will come to know how new entrants like uninor, swan, etisalat DB, etc (some of them were ineligible too) got priority over Tata and the master mind and super HERO behind it was none other than our DMK leader & ex-telecom minister Mr. A. RAJA (now enjoying his dez in TIHAR JAIL).

    If then Tata Docomo should quit if there is scarcity…. Oh i think, so tata docomo has no proper coverage and 0% coverage in many areas. the scarcity is for tata docomo only i think you people eat spectrum instead of lunch in the office so scarcity. Why other operators don’t have scarcity and how are they able to provide good coverage?

    Tata Docomo 2g GPRS is useless in Kolkata. The speed is horribly slow, as an example, Google home page takes 1 minute to load on handset and takes 2 minutes when using handset with computer.So imaging about other sites. Complained many times to CC and thru various forums especially Face Book but every time they provide their tailor made reply which does not remove the speed bottleneck. Looks like Docomo is not interested about 2g GPRS in Kolkata, (They donot have 3g spectrum here), they should atleast give the due Edge Speeds to Kolkatans. I had great hopes on Docomo but all were dashed. Thanks.

    Before comparing any network we shoud know about it in details. TATA DOCOMO is still awaiting spectrum in more than 39 major districts including most lucrative circle DELHI. In the places where it is operating has only 4.4 MHz initial start-up spectrum in comparision to other players who have more than 6.2 MHz ( except other new entrants).
    And when more and more people start using services on a limited scarce resourses it becomes overcrowded. So, Tata Docomo has more subscribers in comparision to other new entrants, so no need of comparision.
    In case of 3G where Tata DoCoMo’s services are running in full fledge, even Airtel, Vodafone and Reliance can’t beat it in terms of speed.
    Tata DoCoMo is offering good data plans in both segments 2G & 3G with its limited resourses.

    Totally agree with you. Tata DoCoMo is much better than any other service provider. They always introduce innovative plans. Compared to spectrum they have, they are providing good network and GPRS quality.

    Yes dude tata docomo has japani technology and trust of tata. so we hope when they get their spectrum in all area they should proved that they r better than any other. come on docomo and fcuk those suckers vodafone airtel.

    Yet to verify in whole Mh but surely they are in the process to share almost Voda & AT cellsites in entire state. I heard that in Goa state they almost covered major city areas of South & North Goa & now they are concentrated to impove indoor network coverage. In next couple of days Uninor will seat with VF & Airtel for their better nw coverage & best onnet & edge speed @ affordable rates.

  • Raghu April 23, 2011 11:29 pm

    let me tell u please complain to Uninor Nodal officer/Appellate Authority about ur views and they will be able to assist u better regarding this

    Uninor EDGE is better than DoCoMo EDGE. Uninor network is improving day by day in Mumbai city, they are shared almost Vodafone & Airtel celsite in Mumbai, after few months Uninor will offer better network coverage than Airtel & Vodafone. So better to leave Docomo & join Uninor for Voice calls & GPRS/Edge.

    I Can Understand. But Here in Maharashtra and Karnataka One Cannot Access Docomo Signals in Hill Station. And Especially The Ghat Section Connecting From Mumbai To Pune You Cannot Access Docomo Signals. That’s Why I Hate Docomo. Aircel is Setting Up 3G Towers in The Areas Where There is No Coverage in The Previous Times Similarly AirTel Too Setting Up 3g Towers in Karnataka. There is No Docomo 3G In My Hometown, Shame On Their Lives. I Agree Every Operator Covers 75%-80% of The State According To The Topography and Orography Conditions. But Docomo Failed To Cover Most Of The Areas in Most Of The States.

    @ ARJUN.. .

    If you DONT MIND PAYING then please GO AHEAD AND PAY :-)
    UNINOR cannot offer 200kbps … when 2G supports speeds upto 153.6 kbit/s even in a 2.5G network (SOURCE: Wikipedia) It seems you are giving the ACTUAL SPEED for Docomo (50kbps) and the THEORETICAL SPEED for Uninor (200kbps).

    * Are you a UNINOR retailer getting high levels on recharge-based commission by any chance?

    >> HI DB, i dont mind paying 50rs extra for gprs as my over all monthly spending is 500+ for 2G network. (i stopped using bsnl 3G once it became costly). now from 3months im using uninor 90pack with 6GB for 1month. i never mind shelling 90rs for uninor as it offers upto 200kbps speed wherever it is present.but i will think 10times to shell 48rs on docomo because its gprs is the worst one, u wont get more than 50kbps. so why to pay more for such services??

  • DB April 23, 2011 7:55 pm

    @Arjun Chandrashekar
    @ ARJUN – I have been following your comments and you are a loyal ANTI-DOCOMO reader on TT! Let me point out here that the topic of discussion is 2G TARIFFS and has nothing to do with NETWORK COVERAGE: like any opertaor DOCOMO does not have 100% coverage – so where you DO get coverage you will get (reasonably good) 2G speeds.

    * How can DOCOMO beat AIRCEL in TAMIL NADU when Docomo launched in 2009 and AIRCEL in 1995 (was earlier RPG) ?

    * While you claim “THOUSANDS LOST HOPE IN IT” let me tell you “LAKHS USE IT & LOVE IT” … no other network gives you LOCAL and STD @ 1p/6 sec (10p/min effectively) at a reasonable Rs 25/month.

    * SLASHING ISD RATES for a TSUNAMI … while this is indeed a great move by AIRCEL and MTNL did the other opertaors (AIRTEL, IDEA, VODAFONE, UNINOR, TATA INDICOM, MTS etc do it as well) ?? Or your only target is TATA DOCOMO ??

    WHY DONT YOU MENTION THIS IN YOUR COMMENTS INSTEAD OF BEING SO ANTI-DOCMO EVERY TIME YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH ??

    >> The Worst Part Of Docomo is Network Coverage and Quality Too. Docomo is Playing Tom and Jerry Games with The Customer. Docomo Can’t able to Beat Aircel in Tamilnadu and Idea Cellular in Karnataka. Then What is Of Use? Because of This Lafard Company Thousands of Customers Lost Hope on It. Especially When Tsunami Hit Japan On Last Month, Aircel and MTNL Slashed ISD Rates to Make Affordability for The Customers. But These People What Did They Done? They Filled Up Their Stomachs Only But Not Care For Their Customers. This Shows How They Care for Their Customers and Foreign Countries

  • Arjun Chandrashekar April 23, 2011 7:43 pm

    @DB

  • DB April 23, 2011 7:42 pm

    @Arjun Chandrashekar

    @ ARJUN I travel from HYDERABAD to BENGALURU every month and use 3G there … get speeds of 4.2 MBPS (Nokia X6) as well as 3.9 MBPS (Nokia C6-01).

    >> Docomo Speed Gone Worst in Karnataka. Never Ever Opt For Docomo.

  • DB April 23, 2011 7:40 pm

    @ ARSHAD … YOU feel its IRRATIONAL cause you CRIB to pay a little bit more.
    I feel its very RATIONAL cause DOCOMO provides the best 2G SPEEDS in HYDERABAD & SECUNDERABAD – I use AIRTEL (2G & 3G), IDEA (2G), VODAFONE (2g) and TATA DOCOMO (2G and 3G testing only).

    >> And the first lines of this telecom talk news is as if docomo has revised the packs in favor of consumers. And also it did not rationalize the packs, it has irrationalized them.

  • DB April 23, 2011 7:38 pm

    @Bharat

    @ BHARAT … thanks for your SENSIBLE views … finally one DISCERNING READER who realises that CHEAP RATES without QUALITY OF SERVICE (QOS) is meaningless.

    >>i agree, but being a service provide docomo has to balance the load according to increased customer, why airtel still provides good speed, is just because they take care of the load

  • DB April 23, 2011 7:35 pm

    @..JacK..
    @ JACK if you are using DOCOMO only for INTERNET its quite obvious you are TOTALLY CLUELESS on the exciting offers they provide … I use DOCOMO (Prepaid) and get
    a) ONE PAISE PER 2 SEC to ANY network – LOCAL & STD
    b) ISD Calls to DUBAI (as per my need) at 11P/SEC – No one else gives per sec @ 11p
    c) ONE PAISE SMS for one year (Local AND national)

    Seems you think MNP is the solution … well all I can say is that for LOW END users (like you) go where you get everything free!!

  • DB April 23, 2011 7:27 pm

    @Arjun Chandrashekar

    @ ARJUN- very unlikely … no one (in their right senses) will CHANGE OPERTAOR for a few rupees! If they do, then they are LOW VALUE CUSTOMERS and worthless to the existing (or new) opertaor.

    >> Yes If It’s Continues Like This All People Will Migrate To Other Operator from Docomo.

  • DB April 23, 2011 7:25 pm

    @sachin

    @ SACHIN – all offers provided were for a limited period (Introductory offer) …. hence now they are being rationalised.
    >>what is the benefit of reducing 48pack in to 21 days.can any one answer me.

  • DB April 23, 2011 7:24 pm

    @Amit.G

    @ AMIT G – both AIRCEL and UNINOR will follow suit, wait & watch !
    >> better to use aircel’s 47rs 1GB for 30days pack where we get atlest 100kbps speed in phone. uninor is the superb one in terms of 2G data speed(constant 180-190kbps without any variation)

  • max April 23, 2011 7:23 pm

    akhilesh :
    i found max speed 49kB/s=392kbps in Aircel 2G
    & 429kB/s=3.5Mbps max speed in bsnl 3G
    3.2mbps in Rim BB +
    using net from 2004 when speed was max 4.9kB/s Airtel 450rs/ul plan
    Aircel 49 kB/s E (now it is 10kb/s)
    Rim 45 Kb/s E (same this time)
    idea 41 kB/s E (now its 23kB/s)
    bsnl 38 kB/s E (now its 20kb/s)
    Docomo, virgin,vodafone,uninor max 19 kB/s E (always same)
    Airtel still 5.9 kB/s here (always same)

    hey hi, r u able to use RIM BB to surf internet, let me know which model you have and what the GPRS plan

  • DB April 23, 2011 7:22 pm

    @sathya
    @ SATHYA … no one will change their OPERATOR for a few rupees difference! If someone is mad enough to do so, they are better off without the current opertaor (as they are not a REC … REVENUE EARNING CUSTOMER … and only look for freebies, without paying anything in return).

  • Vicky April 23, 2011 6:15 pm

    @Raghu
    yo thats good but uninor data speed went upto 30 kB/S three months back
    Nowadays its only 10 to 12 kB/S

  • Raghu April 23, 2011 5:31 pm

    @Vicky
    i could also do recharge of Uninor through HDFC netbanking some 1 week back.

  • Arjun Chandrashekar April 23, 2011 3:53 pm

    Docomo Speed Gone Worst in Karnataka. Never Ever Opt For Docomo. If You Want Best Network Coverage and Data Speeds Opt For Airtel, Idea, Vodafone and BSNL. For Average Network Coverage and Data Speed opt For Aircel. For Weak Network and Highest Data Speed opt for Uninor.

  • Bharat April 23, 2011 3:43 pm

    I stay in bangalore..and Vodafone GPRS speed is simply superb, i agree it varies according to areas..i connect to my system and neither airtel nor docomo(worst, never get connect) provide the speed what i’m getting in vodafone.. Vodafone is really great and they r providing really good service in karnataka..

  • Bharat April 23, 2011 3:38 pm

    sai kiran kanala :

  • ..JacK.. April 23, 2011 2:14 pm

    On 48 rupees pack validity is only 21 days…why? this is not good move by docomo…validity must be 30 days…otherwise useless plan…time to change operator…i’m using docomo only because of their internet plans..cause they don’t have good coverage, no good sms plans, 1 or 2 days in a week they have network issues…so thanx to MNP, say goodbye to docomo…

  • saurabh April 23, 2011 2:09 pm

    docomo tsunami main beh gaya ab india se earning kar raha hai…..

  • Sagarkinkar April 23, 2011 2:06 pm

    @Pramod

    Pramod :
    At lest now Tata Docomo should provide speeds like before i.e 200-250 kbps from current pathetic 80-120 kbps. Earlier, great GPRS speeds were a compensation and a saving grace for them (in lieu of worst Network coverage), but now with deteriorated speed Tata Docomo is not even worth a secondary no.
    Tata Docomo sucks and is not worth it because….
    1.) Worst Network coverage through out India.
    2.) Worst GPRPS/EDGE speeds which is unethical act by them.
    People should dump Tata Docomo and give Uninor a try! They are not perfect but are a lot better than Tata Docomo in terms of voice quality, GPRS speeds and Network coverage.

    And major think is that only uninor is improving it’s network properly. Cause it dose not have 3g licences. But tata got some 3g licences & it only interested in 3g not in 2g cause of nttdocomo

  • Raghu April 23, 2011 2:01 pm

    @Pramod
    agree with you. Uninor we can give it a try but as a Secondary number and not as Primary number as still they have to improve the network, where they have network, even with one signal,we can talk without interruptions.

  • Amit.G April 23, 2011 1:55 pm

    @Magnet
    Thats really good pack.. but wat about speed?

  • Sagarkinkar April 23, 2011 1:54 pm

    Pahale docomo ne nice offer diye taki customer ban sake. Aur ab jab customer ban chuke hai to lut macha rakhi hai. Ab to talktime bhi kam milata hai. good think is choose uninor. full se bhi jyada talktime. Nice & chip data plan, Chip onnet calling,1 paise se bhi kam call rate without any pack. Nice uninor i yar porting last month. And it is better network than docomo.

  • rohan April 23, 2011 1:54 pm

    In Kolkata we have Aircel and idea unlimited plans and uninor, BSNL, Vodafone limited plans. Of all Uninor is best in 2G speed and constant too.. Alternatively Voafone is also good but not loyal operator. Here airtel and reliance is very poor in 2G speed.

  • Raghu April 23, 2011 1:40 pm

    Tata Docomo is worst in most parts of AP. JUST IMPROVE THE NETWORK AND REVISE UR GPRS PLANS.NO ONE WILL USE IT UNTIL AND UNLESS U IMPROVE UR NETWORK. DOCOMO HAS INVESTED 800 CRORES IN NETWORK BUT TILL NOW I DIDNT FIND ANY IMPROVEMENT IN SIGNALS IN AP.

  • Pramod April 23, 2011 1:25 pm

    2.) Worst GPRPS/EDGE speeds (because speeds have been reduced and restricted to 120 kbps), which is unethical act by them.

    People should dump Tata Docomo and give Uninor a try! They are not perfect but are a lot better than Tata Docomo in terms of voice quality, GPRS speeds and Network coverage.

  • Arif April 23, 2011 12:53 pm

    Worst network in Bombay. Network always dance whenever I am in my house.

  • Magnet April 23, 2011 12:49 pm

    Uninor Tamilnadu providing 2.5GB + daily 100 local/national sms free for 30 day at just Rs.47. Wat do u all say abt this pack?

  • MAYANK SHARMA April 23, 2011 12:35 pm

    NOW ITS NOT POSSIBLE TO KEEP IT SIMPLE WITH DOCOMO. . . ITS BETTER TO MORE MONEY TO AIRTEL THOUGH FOR LESS DATA. UNINOR IS ALSO GOOD. SPEED IS SAME AS AIRTEL. NETWORK MAY BE A PRBLM WITH UNINOR

  • Arjun Chandrashekar April 23, 2011 12:34 pm

    @Sameer
    there is No Proper Network Coverage Of TD Then What is Of Use of Tariffs? Even In Mumbai TD Coverage is Worst. All Operators Having Better Coverage Than This Lafard Operator

  • SHIVA KUMAR April 23, 2011 12:28 pm

    WORST PLAN… Docomo please stop making people fool….

  • Sameer April 23, 2011 12:15 pm

    I like docomo because its innovative. Docomo me isd sms ke liye plan hai, jo kisi private operator me nahi. Docomo ka default plan 1p/sec lifetime tak hai jo kisi gsm me nahi. LOVE U DO-DO-CO-CO-MO-MO

  • Hiren April 23, 2011 12:12 pm

    Docomo please stop making people fool, what ever cheap plans you provide it is useless because where to go to use gprs here in ahmedabad almost all handset automatic lost network and show emergency call only when we are unable to make call than how to use gprs. and facing problem since last 1 year and finally ported to Idea so again please stop making people fool

    Jan hit me Jari
    please check network strength before joining Tata Docomo

  • Vicky April 23, 2011 11:44 am

    Docomo worst quality in connectivity and coverage
    I have thrown away it before one year itself
    Waste in my area

  • sai kiran kanala April 23, 2011 11:32 am

  • AMAR April 23, 2011 11:25 am

    its time to leave tata docomo.
    first they redecuced talktime of many voucher which were giving more than full talktime.
    second they increase the price of tata to tata voucher with less benefits.
    now increase in the gprs pack.
    it is better to use uninor or airtel.
    if you want good network in kolkata, go for airtel and uninor is also good.
    uninor is giving good gprs speed, more than full talktime plan , good uninor to uninor plan, coverage may be problem in uninor

  • lalsingh April 23, 2011 11:20 am

    Worst GPRS Service. Speed Never goes above 16KBPS.

  • sachin April 23, 2011 11:11 am

    @sachin

    @Amit.G
    Correct now a days docomo gprs disconnects all time and speed is less.can any one know any news of whether docomo is increasing their coverage indoor coverage is pathetic in all places.

  • Keshav Jha April 23, 2011 10:47 am

    Every operator will become costly after 2-3 years of launching service. Don’t take tension, a lot of solutions are available in the market for GPRS.

  • Arjun Chandrashekar April 23, 2011 10:46 am

    Yes If It’s Continues Like This All People Will Migrate To Other Operator from Docomo. Even Docomo Coverage is Worst in Shanisinganapur, Mumbai, Nasik, Trimbakeshwar in Maharashtra. Last Week I Went To Mumbai and I Found Airtel, Idea, Uninor, Vodafone, Aircel,MTNL are Having Better Coverage Than This Idiotic Operator @Amit.G

  • sachin April 23, 2011 10:39 am

    Sorry to say docomo very bad move.what is the benefit of reducing 48pack in to 21 days.can any one answer me. now adays docomo reducing all its offers 3g tariff also changed.95pack also reduced.now this two also.if they will give 750 mb for one week without night plan it will be good otherwise that also….every month we can see docomos new offers plans etc but no increase in network signal strength etc.this two things they forgot and are running for new plans offers vas etc etc.what docomo this

  • anurags April 23, 2011 10:33 am

    am migrating to vadofone now. their long term gprs pack are better than this.
    and even their speed are quite good as comapred to docomo here in vadodara…..

  • Amit.G April 23, 2011 10:26 am

    Again docomo will see people going out of its network. First off all their gprs speed is the worst than any other operator in karnataka n now after reducing validity who will use it?? better to use aircel’s 47rs 1GB for 30days pack where we get atlest 100kbps speed in phone. uninor is the superb one in terms of 2G data speed(constant 180-190kbps without any variation)

  • sathya April 23, 2011 10:18 am

    oh tata docomo is proving that it is stepping out of its rookie status in Telecom industry. if it makes changes as bad as this, i think MNP will be people’s solution.
