Tata Docomo 3G Set To Go Live From November 5th

Tata DOCOMO, the GSM arm of Tata Teleservices Limited today announced that it is ready to rolls out the next generation 3G Mobile and Data services on 5th November the Diwali Day in India. Powered with cutting-edge technology support from its partner NTT DOCOMO, INC. of Japan, the undisputed global leader in 3G services.

Tata Teleservices Limited shall simultaneously launch its 3G services this Diwali in all the nine Circles where it has the 3G license—Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, UP (West), Punjab, Haryana and Maharashtra. The commercial 3G services would be available from the mid-night tomorrow, that is November 5 morning on the day of Diwali.

The operator claims that Tata Docomo’s HSPA+ 3G Network, set up with the assistance of NTT Docomo, supports high-speed Internet access with speeds of up to 21.1 Mbps. Technical literature often refers to this as ‘3.5 G+’. The network also supports high-definition voice (HD Voice) for a superior voice experience on calls.

“Tata DOCOMO’s 3G services will provide customers a dual advantage—trusted service from the House of Tata, riding on the technological excellence of NTT DOCOMO,” Mr Anil Sardana, Managing Director, Tata Teleservices Limited, said. “We have been able to complete the ramp-up of our network to support 3G services due to the superb 3G-ready network we created at the time of our 2G launch itself, last year. Our 3G rollout across all nine Circles will be completed this year itself,” he added.

“We have cherry-picked the best telecom Circles in the country from the perspective of cumulative market potential for our 3G services. We will cover 51% of Indian towns with a population of over a million and 60% of towns that have over half-a-million people. Additionally, our footprint covers 55% of households with an annual income of over Rs 3 lacs, and 49% households in the SEC A+B category. All these parameters provide us with fantastic market reach and potential,” Mr Sardana added.

Now We can user TATA docomo 3G at 384Kbps speed at Ahmedabad. It is not officaly launch but we are getting signal.

Tata has launched 3G in our city KOTA (rajasthan) it is giving upto 3.2Mbps speed in downloading & upto 1.2Mbps speed in uploading.
This 3G can b used with 2G sim with 2G tarrif plans like which r as follows
Rs. 48– 2GB for 1 month
Rs. 98– 6GB for 1 month
Its really amazing with superb speed i m also using it & u also try it.

Good News for Ahmedabad DOCOMO Users there is DOCOMO 3G network is now Available u can find it as mentioned process but launching date is not specified by authority but lets hope it will launch very soon as network looks ready here

21MB is a SPEED that is offered, whether you have a mobile that supports it or not! Cant you use the same speed on a PC to measure?

NO signal in Nagpur yet., Spoke to CC , they told to send ACT3G sms to 53333. but they don’t know about the rollout of 3G in Nagpur/Pune as well as about Free 3G uses till Nov 11., can anybody provide the official link? Whether any amount is deducted for 3G user? any other setting require?, Pl. Reply
BTW earlier I used my samsung SGH-i200 handset for Video Calling on BSNL 3G network.

I have selected dual mode, so when 3G is available then my cell automatically selects the 3G, now my speed is arounf 4Mbps and there is no charge additional, i am using my 2.5 GB pack that is for 60 Rs/-

Its a marketing hoax….there is no ‘HD’ involved. The standard that actually involves HD voice codec is being developed in Europe. It wont be launched until 2011.

guys, please post the screens of DOCOMO speeds here, they are great marketing liers, 21Mbps????????????, i dont think it is not even 3.1Mbps they give , their logic is “UPTO” but even their own office wont get it, I am curious to see the screen.

The main thing is that DOCOMO 3G data plan should also be affordable like its 2G data plan..

If the plans will not suitable than there is no benefit to launch it on the occasion of Diwali..

Dear friend everyone know that TATA’S always keep their word and are true to it’s customers they have HSPA+ NETWORK but how can anyone check their network speed as it has not been commercially launched.please remember that even if you have a network supporting 21 mbps speed you will not get 21 mbps speed as it is not practically possible due to various technical reasons and also till now no mobile or smartphone supports 21mbps speed at least in INDIA.

I requesting guys to post the speednet screenshots once it launched. I dont care if their network is 21 mbps or 56Mbps, as an end user how much speed i am getting is important. The companies in india minting hard earned money with stupid tricks using “upto”.Is this not cheating? TATAINDICOm Proton+ says upto 3.1 Mbps but i never any atleast 2Mbps in Hyderabad at any location, even in their office. TATAs are not exception in cheating. They have to survive in the GSM war by joining lately, so they came with these plans, otherwise how “tatas” became “TATAS” we know the history. Speed is not just for mobiles, u can check with latest Data cards from Hawai and ZTE which can handle 21.1 Mbps

If the download speed is 21mbps. Mathetically The transper rate will be 2.6 mb per second. Kahene se kuch nehi hota, wait for 5th Nov
