  • GULU March 7, 2011 7:21 pm

Don’t Buy BSNL 3G it is a waste. It is in testing mode. Speed is fast for 10 days then it reduced to 10Kbps. If you give complain they will not listen.

    So don’t go for it

  • PD March 5, 2011 5:59 pm

There is a saying south which when translated in English will refer something like this – “When the berry ripen, the crow gets infected with mouth ulcer…”

This is true as for me now, BSNL done away the much patted “unlimited” plans, and lo.. ! now 3G (started) is accessible here at the door-step !.. ha… ha….. What an irony…..!!!!

  • varun February 27, 2011 1:18 pm

Bsnl 3G speed capped to 1 Mbps. Horrible browsing & pathetic download speed.
We are trapped, bsnl cheated us

  • Abhijith February 26, 2011 9:17 am

Who said we are growing ? ? ? Never all political leaders growing . . . For example our state leaders kalaigar family , maran family , a.raja family, t.r.balu family ,suresh rajan family , home minister chidambaram family all fellows got money from 2G spectrum. . Still poor is poor. They stick to free providing by government . . But for a job providing government not taking any steps for growing young generation . . Only growth of young generation is enough to become india a developed country . But here only poverty . Only richer people is becoming richer . . Poor people is still poor@selvam

bsnl 3g speed reduced again!! not going above 1.5 mbps few days back after withdrawl of unlimited plan speed was up but now again  what is the use of 3g. now bsnl 2G customers getting only 20 kbps that why customers having 2G data recharged lead more congestion to network because to download only 2gb one have to be connected around 200 hours on network which means more congestion than past

  • Pravin February 23, 2011 11:18 am

These guys didn’t even inform via sms.. I happened to discover by chance. Got a bill of 1900/- from my previous bills of approx. 400/-. This is my 2nd experience with BSNL. Very cheap and fraudulent behaviour by BSNL.

  • BINIT February 22, 2011 6:05 pm

Its really a worst news for BSNL 2G/3G users from kolkata. Specially for those who was net addicted like me. Can anyone tell me when will the new unlimited plan be available for us.

  • Narendra February 22, 2011 1:34 pm

    again update :
just received a msg from BSNL ,
    Date time: 02-22-2011 12:56:35

Content: BSNL 3G ke Naye Data Voucher:

    Voucher(Rs)-Validity-Dwnld
    3000-30days-35 GB
1500-30days-15 GB. so it’s official now , but BSNL customer care doesn’t know it , what a shame..

  • Narendra February 22, 2011 7:52 am

    Hi Friends,

There is no update of unlimited plan withdrawal on any of BSNL websites , I’ve checked a few like Gujarat , Maharashtra , Kerala , Karnatka , Madhyapradesh but no update , it seems like the unlimited plans are still on.
    and online recharge website ,
    http://portal.bsnl.in/rc/aspxfiles/login.aspx
and just now confirmed with BSNL Pune , Maharashtra customer care No. 1503 (took 50 tries or more ),
    UNLIMITED PLANS ARE STILL ON,
    Hurray ,
but upload speed of Bsnl Really sucks , i have to use tata docomo for that. Like for posting this comment , netbanking , purchasing online etc.
If you guys want to improve BSNL service , maybe we can start a campaign against BSNL service and send emails .
If anyone interested , post your comments Here.

go man experience and tell us how good are others we will also follow u

  • selvam February 22, 2011 12:51 am

TO EMAD sorry to say NOW bsnl is only paying tax arond 10000 crores as tax ok.. I don’t know wheather PVT operators paying it correctly as VODA has to pay nearly 10000cr no news abt others.. they may also have cases like voda to not to pay taxes..ok can u giv private operators contact addresses like in BSNL…even u can’t contact any responsible persons n pvt operators n their offices to answer u.. even any body s there he will not b there the next time.. persons will be changing we can not follow..

  • selvam February 22, 2011 12:37 am

it s becaz of the policy by our PSUs.. making way to private sectors and PSU to compete equally with private operators.. as per TRAI and DOT ..

  • selvam February 22, 2011 12:11 am

no harm to 4200 ul who r running with. after the time lapse u hav to charge applicable at that time .this has been cgd by the pressure of X..there should b equql competition there should not be any discrimination . Because Airtel, voda,Ril,tata etc paid only around 5000 crores because it is mittal, ambani, essar, tata s’money BUT BSNL only paid 13000 crores because it is our money.. so we are growing INDIA..WHAT we are doing we are calculating to reduce our expenditure by paie with out knowing that crores hav been pocketed by the GIANTS..also there is a server updation in BSNL 3G which was informed by msg to the customers wil be ok in days…

  • Sarveshwar February 21, 2011 8:47 am

Guys, how is the speed of this BSNL 2G/3G in Bangalore? I am currently on TATA Docomo and I am thinking of porting the number to BSNL 2G. As far as TATA is concerned, their plans are cheaper than ‘revised’ BSNL plans but their service is degrading by day. TATA’s GPRS/3G is not ok for browsing. Yes, downloading a file (mp3, torrent, etc) will take you as high as 3 Mbps but browsing on these connections sucks. Even their Nodal and Appelite numbers don’t work and CC people (for all operators I suppose)are wonders of the world. Subscribing regularly to 3G service is out of question with their (and ALL other operators) ridiculous plans.

  • Amarjeet February 20, 2011 10:19 pm

    @Ashish
the news is true, the unlimited plan is withdrawn.this is really sad news.bsnl will loose lots of subscriber.shame on bsnl.

  • yagnesh February 20, 2011 5:46 pm

Are these plans for new recharge/registrations or still applicable to 6 months advanced rental plan taken few months ago? The news still confusing and the cacutta website updated the same on TT but not mentions about the people already paid 6 months advance.

those who paid 6 months advanced payment they can enjoy the same still it last long .

But whenever i am downstairs I cant use internet even on the main road in my area (even in full network). I am charged 1p now 2p everytime but the site doesn’t open. I have complained many times to CC but all in vain. i get sms after some days that your problem has been solved but i still cant use internet. Whom should i complain?

    Narendra :
    Dear Friends,
I read all your comments , here are mine.
    1. India is not US in terms of standardofliving/percapitaincome/facilities , so its not
right to justify new plans comparing US.
    2. I thinks this move by BSNL is due to bribe taken by ministers and officials , since when
they started to care for public/government/bsnl as long as they get their pay ?
3.BSNL started FACEBOOK profile And twitter account , but never tried to improve their
customer care and bad service in concerned areas. And now heavy plans citing bandwidth
    consumptions , are we fools……..
    4. Yes ,people use internet for downloading movies/softwares/porn , but it’s government work
to check piracy , not BSNL. Moreover , they should have a valid cap like 30-50 GB per month
, that’s suitable for all downloaders ,online students and BSNL alike .
After all it’s a government entity not Private Operators, they get money from our taxes and
have cheap infrastruture and other facilites available to them.
Overall , Bsnl is trying to screw us..
    Now Solution Part.
1.Alternatives : bsnl evdo or wimax is preffered for high speed and downloading, while
Tatadocomo/uninor can be used for browsing/orkuting/fackbook etc.
2.If we send email(other means also encouraged) to Higher authorities like Prime
minister/telecom miniters/ Bsnl MD/NOdal officer and make our point to them , then Maybe
they are forced to listen us and change their policies . In past , i’ve reached upto home
ministery for complains , got some results.
They just can’t ignore official mail from public , they have to take action .

@Abhijit & other TT online friends VERY…VERY…GOOD….NEWS ! Today I got the 3G USIM (128K)from CSC of BSNL After breaking my head for nearly 3-4 months finally BSNL has made necessary changes in their system (HLR1)in Maharashtra/Goa Circle. Now all the subscribers having SIM cards (of 32k) in the old series..like 94030…94032…etc. can get REPLACEMENT 3G USIM with 128k capacity on payment of Rs. 59/- from their nearest CSC.

I am very much thankful to TT, MTNL BSNL, firstonet, etc. and many other friends in BSNL and MTNL, wh, time and again gave me support and guidance and necessary help/suggestions,in achieving this task ! (Moral- u will get milk definitely if u cry aloud !). I am sure many subscribers in older series too, in Maharashtra/Goa cirlce can now enjoy 3G services !

Dude make it simple y dont u try call forwarding to another operator(which u have in mind if ported out of bsnl) and see…

Guys Stop comparing with US. In US internet is infact much cheaper than over here. Just yesterday i was talking to a friend of mine from US and he uses 4Mbps connection @ $30 a month unlimited. Now to us may be $30= Rs. 1350 but to them its worth a day meal so to them its not really that costly. to them this $30 is like Rs. 300+/- . so you get the senerio. One of my class mate went to US and he used to make around $1000 just by doing per time job so even he could afford a $30 connection.
He makes ISD calls to his friends in India because he has excess free mins but for us ISD calls that too for fun and gossip is tabboo. So now you make the call whether India is cheap or US.
Now i know this is a 3G discussion. But my point here is that we are actually being exploited even at this age where other country people using 10Mbps connection at such an affordable price we cant even dream of dedicated 4-5Mbps connection hassle free. With the advent of cloud computing and streaming and hd quality videos we sud have unlimited higher bandwidth at affordable price range.
When other countries are getting shavy with 4G we are still having 2G tussles over here. And with this limit and all i think we are just moving backward when we should really be thinking of how to move forward.

    Real truth and

quite possible buddy…i dwnloaded 2GB in 75mins. yesterday..

its possible to download 2Gb, 1Gb within an hour. You downloaded it from a high speed server(microsoft, softpedia, cnet, etc), am I correct? You can’t download 2Gb(within an hour) from file sharing sites & torrents and also you can’t download large files from file sharing sites because bsnl uses shared ip. 32Gb/day, 980Gb from 30 days, impossible.

well as expected move by bsnl, but .02Paisa for 10KB is not accepted

  • Narendra February 17, 2011 2:55 am

Here are few emailaddressess/contact forms if wanna do something

@Sharath but programs of DURDARSHAN are of no use for many of us they dont we want information or knowledge on particular topic and we dont wait 4 something we we are not fully convinced that it will serve our purpose internet is the best way

I am just giving Doordarshan as an example that viewership for science and technology programs are low..The same case applies for internet also..If out of 100, 2 people want to watch science & tecnology videos and 98 want to watch porn and pirated movies, how will it benefit society?..Operators may make short term profits, but on long term basis they have to take responsibility since film industry as well as government(who is losing tax money) will put pressure on them..Take Reliance for an example,it is a film production, distribution, exhibition company..By giving unlimited option why should it encourage people to pirate its own films and lose revenue?..People who really want to acquire knowledge can get it from wikipedia, sites like TT and hundreds of newspapers available on net..

    @Sharath
We are discussing here about bsnl 3G unlimited plans. You are talking about movie industry & porn, actually what you want? Do you want to stop piracy? stop porn videos downloading? Talk about bsnl 3G or any telecom related topics.

Yes I am talking about BSNL 3G plans only..If u read my previous comments u can understand it..I have clearly told that stopping unlimited is beneficial for 3G customers since most of people who opt for this use it for torrents, pirated movie downloads which is bandwidth consuming which affect other customers..

you are very intelligent. If network congestion affects voice calls then what they do? limits voice calls? do they stop giving new connections? maximum call duration 30 minutes/day, each call ends automatically with a 5 minutes interval. Do you think, this is the way of solving network congestion? To solve network congestion, install more towers & increase server capacity. put small limitations like 200 GB or 100 GB FUP is a good idea.

If it is possible please try to understand what happened in US..There also operators started with unlimited plans..After a few months they withdrew it because of the issues I highlighted earlier..Even now also they keep track of their subscribers usage and throttle some subscribers if they feel that they are exceeding limits..Why they do it? because video consumes so much bandwidth that it is difficult to give good experience for all customers..In fact many customers wanted to shift to Verizon from AT&T because of call drop issues arised due to heavy iphone video usage…In a high per capita income country like US,if this is the situation how will be the situation in a price sensitive country like India?..It costs money to establish new towers and other equipments..Already operators have paid huge sums of money for 3G license..How do they expect to recoup this?..They will be fools to give precious bandwidth to some people who runs 24 hours torrents and take advantage of the situation..

Mr. Sharath Dont compare us with US where incoming text is also chargable and costliest internet. copycats never succeed. india will be more powerfull than US we have implemented MNP in india in just two years while US companies taken 5 years to implement it so dont watch US as an ideal. we should be ahead then any other countryy. Mr. many contries have 300mbps internet connections why not compare us with them india is still not able to servive 3G due to these idiotics thinking. if you type persons become telecom minister then 300mbps and 1gbps connection will be always a dream.

BSNL hiked 3G data rate due to congestion in network . Speed started to decline … Highest downloder of the previous month downloaded 980 GB. BSNL has to pay 3 Rs per GB to Tata tele services .So BSNL has to do this for their existance…

Yes I am talking about BSNL 3G plans only..If u read my previous comments u can understand it..I have clearly told that stopping unlimited is beneficial for 3G customers since most of people who opt for this use it for torrents, pirated movie downloads which is bandwidth consuming which affect other customers..

Uninor will get more cust in kolkata. I am tired of docomo’s and idea’s poor GPRS speed. Now even Aircel is better than docomo in terms of speed.

Lol its 3G plan how they wil offer 98 Rs. 5GB?
Then every body will leave other operators 2G and will go for bsnl 3G
and uninor also give less speed when subscribers increased but their connectivity is better than docomo and idea

In my opinion there should not be any unlimited plans. Most of the time people normally use these for wrong reasons and they will also affect others by denying speed. So all operators should come out with plans like 5Gb / 10Gb (base pack) and top-up packs like 5Gb, 10Gb, 20Gb, 30Gb, 50Gb, 100Gb with some cost. So that once a person completes the base pack he/she can activate the top-up packs as per his/her need.

BSNL aur Reliance, dono ke saath aisa huaa ki kuchh lucky logon ko shuru mein 3G ka speed milne laga lekin dheere – dheere sab band hone lage aur jo abhi bhi lucky honge unke bhi speed aane wale dinon mein kam ho hin jayenge.

@Keshav Jha can u plz translate it to english

I mean to say that our fear was right that BSNL will increase its rariff. Whatever was the tariff of BSNL, private operators never showed a competition to BSNL & they remained introducing costly data plans. After seeing no competition from private operators, BSNL finally increased its tariff. FUP is not wrong but imposing FUP upto such a small amount of data is absolutely not reasonable.

I think the guys who r saying that unlimited plans are just used for porn and other wastefull things they have limited thinking just like their internet plans we have many other things to do with that even online classes are there on internet and many usefull books and other stuffs some guys have the mentality to always thinking in a negative way so plz think twice before u say we want unlimited plans back or minimum rationalise these plans as 1500 for 15GB is quiet high it must be under 700rs

wishfull thinking on ur part..But simple truth is that 99% of people use unlimited option for porn and pirated movies..Statistics prove that..I have gone thru ur comments about online classes,I would like to remind that if anyone remembers Doordarshan also has programmes related to science and technology, about agriculture which can be accessed free of cost by who wants it..But no one watch them..So how come suddenly when something is on internet people suddenly want to acquire knowledge..The truth is if anything is given free people want to take advantage of it and porn and pirated movies are the first preference..People do not seem to understand the losses pirated movies are causing to film industry..Film industry is one of the biggest industries which is giving employment to thousands of people directly and indirectly, also tax money to government…Even in US also operators initially gave unlimited plans and when they realised that it is mainly used for piracy, they backtracked and there is no unlimited in US now..

  • suhas February 15, 2011 2:53 pm

i feel its a conspiracy. due to bsnl’s cheap 3g rates and also due to MNP people were flowing into bsnl for using 3g services and all other private operators who had 3g licenses had no or were losing out customers because of this. since bsnl is a public co the officials might have been bribed by these private operators to bring out these bakwas plans otherwise which stupid on earth wud roll out 270 plan with 6 GB when there is cut throat competition prevailing in today’s telecom market ?? i think this move is to make BSNL lose out more customers. wonder what would happen to our country’s future.

  • rohan February 15, 2011 1:37 pm

I think BSNL did its best and still cheaper than others on 3G. Docomo gives 6GB@95, UNINOR 6GB@90, IDEA 3GB@98, AIRTEL 2GB@98 . But out of all these none gave me better speed. Docomo is degrading day by day giving 4kbps i hardly cud use 500mb a month. I was using bsnl 2G which gave me avg 25+ kbps and sometime 60kbps. Uninor is also a gud option atleast better than docomo. I will use 8rs pack on bsnl unlimited for 2 days that means 120rs/month unlimited.

  • S R February 15, 2011 1:36 pm

    @Saurabh
Can’t agree to that. What the subscriber uses the connection for is only his business. Also, its not right to assume that heavy downloaders are using it only for porn!
Anyway, sad move by BSNL. :(

  • Saurabh February 15, 2011 1:17 pm

If only some people do misuse of the scheme than that doesnt mean that all should suffer from that there should be some sort of filter to stop the porn sites for unlimited then the problem can be solved for both ways what do you say guys

  • Saurabh February 15, 2011 1:14 pm

I think the guys who r saying that unlimited plans are just used for porn and other wastefull things they have limited thinking just like their internet plans we have many other things to do with that even online classes are there on internet and many usefull books and other stuffs some guys have the mentality to always thinking in a negative way so plz think twice before u say we want unlimited plans back or minimum rationalise these plans as 1500 for 15GB is quiet high it must be under 700rs

  • Saurabh February 15, 2011 1:07 pm

Hay thats a negetive move as in many homes like us many many people use same connection and thats not enough for 4-5 people we thought that with time 3G prices would come down but now it seems like a dream only specially when BSNL is joining the private operators in increasing the terrif plz install more towers to cover the speed so that comman man can enjoy at affordable prices

  • vishant February 15, 2011 1:06 pm

how on eARTH can smobe say that this is agud move.fuck u all who says this…..whats going on in india…now again i have 2 go for broadband…bsnl will lose thousands of customers by dng this..now 3g is only for dicks who want to surf at 3g speed

  • vishant February 15, 2011 12:58 pm

b.s.n.l.sucks…..u have the worst network.i was just using bsnl for using unlimited 3g.because its cheap then others but i swear the god i will use mnp 2change my company after my unlimited 3g pack is over.and the people who thinks that this is a right step can fuckoff

  • Emad February 15, 2011 12:40 pm

if bsnl increased the default internet tariff of 1 paisa per 10kb to 2 paisa per 10kb is there any bsnl spoon here who can prove the misuse of 1 paisa per 10kb plan did anyone downloaded porn movie at the cost of 1 rupee per mb ? or the plan used for pirated stuff? then why BSNL changed default tariff?
the truth is truth sleepy bsnl olds dont want customers anymore they are unable manage new customers with sleepy soul

  • Emad February 15, 2011 12:27 pm

    @sai kiran
Bsnl sevices are not for students and nor for common man only for BSNL Employees and Net’as they are happy to see this as they can use their unlimited special free plans without any hassel many bsnl employees are also here to in defence of bsnl

  • Karthik Kumar V G February 15, 2011 12:22 pm

In my opinion there should not be any unlimited plans. Most of the time people normally use these for wrong reasons and they will also affect others by denying speed. So all operators should come out with plans like 5Gb / 10Gb (base pack) and top-up packs like 5Gb, 10Gb, 20Gb, 30Gb, 50Gb, 100Gb with some cost. So that once a person completes the base pack he/she can activate the top-up packs as per his/her need.

  • sai kiran February 15, 2011 12:06 pm

    @Emad
students cannot download new softwares, utilities etc, with that price

  • A Mohapatra February 15, 2011 12:03 pm

Very Happy with BSNL’s move. Now I can use my favorite BSNL 3G seamlessly with good speeds. And FUP is good as per the pricing. Now all those who abused BSNL’s GPRS Service have to look for alternatives !

  • gurgaon February 15, 2011 11:46 am

  • Emad February 15, 2011 11:40 am

That’s why i am saying charges should be increased more like Rs. 100 Or Rs. 1000 per Mb to avoid illegal and porn stuff! then Rich people can only consume data in useful texts and never view images
and what about common man ?? he not even make a dreem to touch bsnl internet.
By this way bsnl can keep good speed and no one can view or download any porn or pirated stuff  Except BSNL emloyees :(

It is a good decision by BSNL..People who are crying on this use this option to download mainly porn and pirated movies..Not only these people are doing illegal things, they are denying people who want to use net for genuine purposes a good web surfing experience..I am happy that BSNL came to its senses since, there is a good chance that Government itself will ask it to stop it since it will be ironic a government company like BSNL is promoting piracy and porn..

Now it will only serve to kids like u, is 15 Gb enough for u that too for 1500 rs.
The solution of slow net is due to increased users on a particular BTS so why install more BTS in such areas rather than stopping people to use the same.

yes i really agree with u… i used to watch a lot of videos (especially mobile reviews) in youtube and used to watch weekly podcast… usually a 1 hour video in youtube will take around 250mb to 300mb (360 p video)… then i used to download many linux distros like ubuntu and fedora to test it..so i think bsnl should increase their FUP to 30 GB for rs 1500 plan which more than reasonable.. they can increase the FUP to 80 GB ( whose gonna need 80GB) for the rs 3000 plan.. once the limit is reached they can change the speed to 2G speed..

  • Benny February 15, 2011 10:34 am

Telecom players complaining about increasing spectrum fee telling that it will shoot up call rates is a lie and a cheap tactic. As long as there is competition with upto 10 or more players in each circle i dont see call rates going over 1re/min atleast for the next 3 years. It might go up from current levels of 50p/min to 60p/min.

  • Bhanu Sharma February 15, 2011 10:33 am

i have called customer care in the morning
they are saying that bsnl has not withdrawn the unlimited packs…………

  • Benny February 15, 2011 10:19 am

n people complaining about increase in spectrum fee…
Do u know that in the US both incoming calls and SMS are charged. The rate for outgoing call/sms is the same as the rate for incoming call/sms respectively.
For unlimited calls u spend over 60 USD per month.

Good move by BSNL to bring in a cap to data usage… BSNL network is already choking in many places in Tamil Nadu with very less download speeds in 3G.
Having said that i totally disagree with the pricing of additional data usage. 2000 INR per GB (2 INR / MB)… r u kidding me BSNL.It would be fair if BSNL gives the 1500 INR plan with 15 GB for 999 INR
If BSNL thought it will improve its network and improve revenue because of this its not true. Many will quit BSNL or switch to lower usage packs. So BSNL will end up with less ARPU.

  • AKHILESH February 15, 2011 10:05 am

As far as i know the 4200 6 months plan will not be affected

thats good to know… i am sure that bsnl will increase the price anyway after sometime… but i think the Rs. 1500 plan should be giving 30 GB of data usage which will be reasonable as mts is now providing 12GB for Rs. 999…

    Highest data downloaded by a customer(karnataka) in a month 95O GB. 2nd user 866 & 3rd User 688.

we should understand that only if bsnl is profitable then only we will get good offers … otherwise bsnl will only be in history… so i think what bsnl has done is good for them and their customers.. it will reduce the network conjustion and it will end the illlogical downloads by some people.. i do not think there is any need for any normal user to download 900 GB of data.. a 30 GB limit and after that 2G speed is more than enough for me.. if mts can give 12gb for 999 then bsnl should reconsider thier decision and make it more attractive.. now after the 15GB you will be charged for the furthur data usage.. that is not good.. they should make it like after the limit the soeed should be reduced… Even now also bsnl plans are much logical than the private operators… do not forget that bsnl data roaming is free so we can use this on all part of india…

anyway as good alternatives are provided by bsnl itself.. i will change to wimax as it is only rs 750 for unlimited…

Same thing happen when 2G was launched in India
BSNL used to be cheaper than the private operators and then they tried to copy private operators tariffs and get behind the biggies Subscriber addition
AGAIN same thing happening with 3G
BSNL started with cheapest plan but private operators dont match BSNL tariff in 3G
now BSNL copying private operators plan and in near future in 3G BSNL will not be the leader just like 2G because private operators marketing strategy will give them the victory

r u joking? Bsnl wimax maximum speed is 2Mbps. r u talking about evdo? Check bsnl wimax homepage. They are charging Rs. 7000 for 2Mbps unlimited.

  • vishal patel February 14, 2011 10:18 pm

This is just a beginning of surprises. Let us wait and watch how bandwidth becomes very costly to afford. As I think, no unlimited tariff will exist in the future. All companies are upgrading infrastructure of internet. So, definitely speed will boost up like other countries but no company will offer unlimited tariff even at slow speed except small player in the market.
Waiting to get shocked from RELIANCE LTE INFOTEL PROJECT which is capable to deliver 50 to 100mbps/user.

Those who crying about bsnl stopping unlimited plans kindly check your data usage.I think there will be hardly a few mad downloader who may be using more that 15GB per month. If so then they should pay more becz they are just adding to the network congestion and affecting the speed.
In my view those who will be really afected are only those like some small offices and all where they use upto 300GM or more permonth simply paying 1500 permonth.

I would say it is a good move from bsnl if they could make some improvement in quality of their 3G service because of this.

    @mumBHAI
How did u say that BSNL providing 14Mbps in south zone?
Where u r living? n where did u got that speed?
im in chennai. Here i got not more than 4Mbps(511KBps).
Pls tell me the pace where u got that much speed.

  • Manoj Thakur February 14, 2011 8:08 pm

What the hell BSNL has done……………..I hate you, I was using BSNL number just because of unlimited data plan coz On laptop,2GB data ends in just 5 or 6 days.

  • Amar February 14, 2011 8:06 pm

Cheap 3G data was the reason that I ported my number to BSNL.
As I’ll complete 90 days with BSNL I’ll switch to another operator providing good network & no call problem.
No operator is providing good 3G tariff, unlimited data plans.
If this is the condition now, don’t know how will the pricing be for 4G data services.
    :-(

  • Gaurav February 14, 2011 7:49 pm

BSNL might have been paid by private operator to increase the price. They must have said enough is enough now come down.. Take this box full of Rs. and get the plans removed ASAP.
Paisa agar muft aa raha hai toh kyu na lele.
Behti ganga mein haath dho lena issi ko bolte hai….

  • Paras Chhajed February 14, 2011 7:43 pm

May be to provide benfit to private operators so that they get a good chunk of the market.

  • som February 14, 2011 7:36 pm

    time to leave BSNL.

  • jagadeesh February 14, 2011 7:35 pm

very worst move from bsnl. i wish to move to docomo.

  • Mane February 14, 2011 7:33 pm

2g customer should go for virgin gsm 6gb in 95 with good speed and std and local call at 25p/min with monthly stv of 25.

  • amarjeet February 14, 2011 7:03 pm

jab bsnl ka data user bahut kam tha,tab unlimited offer diya.ab customer jyada ho gaya hai to offer wapas le liya, isme private operator ka kya galti hai.???????
Everybody know that it is not possible to give unlimited usage to all at lower price.
    Ab khusi manao bsnl walo……………..
So bsnl is going to lose huge no of data users also.

  • comSushil February 14, 2011 7:02 pm

    @kochikkaran
As far as i know the 4200 6 months plan will not be affected

  • Emad February 14, 2011 7:00 pm

    dikhadi na aukaat
aur gaao BSNL ke geet

  • mumBHAI February 14, 2011 6:56 pm

Good that BSNL withdrew unlimited!!! its GPRS & 3G speeds in South Zone have been deteriorating rapidly on account of cust indulging in bulk parallel downloads leading to network congestion. Even though promotional offers create market potential but they have to be introduced discreetly to ensure that existing potential users are not impacted in any manner. No other operator is giving full unlimited plans with speeds of 14 Mbps. For instance, Tata Docomo is restricting 21 Mbps speed up to some download limits and then reducing the speed.
so i feel BSNL is fully justified in terminating unlimited download plans.
similar case of AT&T in USA suffering the same consequences on account of UL 3G plans is well documented.

  • ANIRBAN February 14, 2011 6:55 pm

Ab BSNL bhi chal para wohi line pe with poor network compare to most of the private operators.

  • Mohit Sharma February 14, 2011 6:49 pm

    POOR BSNL…!!!
    .
now everyone will shift to other networks….as other networks provide 6GB free data usage only @95rs ONLY!!!! for which BSNL is charging rs.270!!!!
    .
Now i need to think about it seriously…

6 GB in Rs.270. Tata DoCoMo giving 6 GB in Rs.95. The speed is also very good.

  • kochikkaran February 14, 2011 6:23 pm

hey today is not april 1st… i just wish its a april fool joke…

  • Shibasis February 14, 2011 6:20 pm

If BSNL will continue with its revised plans.. Then surely gonna suffer of losing subscribers through MNP because now onwards BSNL has neither speed nor unlimited plans and I think this will be the right time for customers to switch to others bcoz others are best in terms of speed and quality service than BSNL.. what’s say people ?

  • TD February 14, 2011 6:19 pm

    Uninor giving 6gb for rs.90

  • kochikkaran February 14, 2011 6:18 pm

TT what about the unlimited 4200 plan for 6 months… is this revised rate is applicable to the 4200 6 month plan….i have only used it for 3 months and i am really concerned abt it…i think it was a trap as we all have paid 4200 in advanced and now i think we will only get maximum of 15 GB if the revised rate is in effect for this 4200 plan also… i think the rs 606 plan which gives 4 Gb night usage and 1 Gb day usage is not affected… so it will be better now…

i am seriously thinking to take bsnl wimax which is only rs 999 for unlimited… other options are bsnl EVDO of rs 750 or bsnl cable broadband for rs 750… i think even MTS rs 999 12 GB plan is looking good now… my friend has taken it and he is telling that the speed is very good…

  • AmitS February 14, 2011 6:15 pm

and what about Rs. 98 recharge for 2 gb ?

  • Steve February 14, 2011 6:13 pm

Abhijit :So now Private player forcing BSNL to Increase there Data prices!!!Otherwise BSNL would have registered lot of congestion or load on there server due to unlimited plans!!!

this is wat was happening in bsnl.. their servers were chocking as in more and more customers were joining bsnl

  • Honey February 14, 2011 6:11 pm

What is the source?? No confirmation on BSNL Site…

  • Amol February 14, 2011 6:06 pm

A very shocking news, this is!

  • Steve February 14, 2011 6:05 pm

whats the speed if i use this 2g plans on 3g…currently bsnl 2g plans is much slower in 3g but its much faster in 2g

  • pratik February 14, 2011 5:56 pm

all this happening nowadays is due to trai and dot’s irrational way for charging of spectrum whether 2g or 3g ;imposing fines every now and then on telecom companies ;and passing stupid regulations so that ultimately we subscribers have to pay unreasonable charges for services from our pocket

  • Steve February 14, 2011 5:54 pm

    what the hell

  • jegan February 14, 2011 5:46 pm

GONE…Hope Lot of Pressure from Private Operators..Bcoz of BSNL 3G,no one opts (very few may use) for Airtel,Docomo,Reliance 3G….So what abt Existing 4200 plan? I thinkk those users can enjoy unlimited till 6 months….

  • varun February 14, 2011 5:46 pm

Very very very baaaaaad news… Here comes the use of mobile number portability…

  • TUFAN CHATTERJEE February 14, 2011 5:37 pm

    Ab BSNL or dubega…….

  • GAURAV JHA February 14, 2011 5:37 pm

Now 270 recharge is giving u 6 gb browsing, so better go with 98 recharge which provides u with 2 gb data. If u are using gprs on your mobile and that too with opera mini then even 2 gb data is more than enough to spend. I also every month do an e-recharge of 98 on my bsnl sim but i do hardly manage to spare 1 gb.

  • Abhijit February 14, 2011 5:34 pm
