Replies recd. from MTNL call centre 1503 are misleading the customers.
    1. Service Available only in Asian countries and not in USA.
    2. Asking customers to SMS “PREROAM” to 444
    3. Next, Customers are advised to recharge with Rs.2,200
    4. Reply to SMS “PREROAM” – you will receive confirmation within one hour.
Finally, it is not clear whether MTNL provides service for international roaming while in USA. If yes, what is the tariff.

Really Great news.. Just now I was going for Rs. 46 recharge but as I was online so was just checking telecom talk for any new updates or new comments and read this Flash news.. so now going for Rs. 55 per sec plan.. as In BSNL I am already enjoying all @ 49ps/min scheme.. So In MTNL will go for 1ps/sec roaming schme..

Right decision. MTNL proved the saying is RIGHT – “Chhappar phaadke”. The surprising part is that even the video calls too.. For others boasting 3G introduction – an apt comment – Slips Are Showing !!!!!

Don’t you think that 1p/sec is still costly, atleast mtnl to mtnl must be 1 paise per 2 seconds… there should be tariff of 30rs per month in which all local+std+roaming should be 1paise per 2seconds… as i find 1 paise per second is hell costly…

TATA INDICOM CDMA INCREASE ITS ROAMING SMS RATES FROM Rs.1.5 to Rs.3/sms in NATIONAL ROAMING.

    TATA.. bye..bye…

I think that Tata Indicom is the Premiere most operator in India, that is why they incresed the sms rates… as you can see that with tata indicom cdma, sms delivery is super quick… that is why they increased sms rates so that premium service should be maintained… well done tata indicom… good luck for your thinking..

You have posted two views which are contradictory in nature !

You find MTNL’s “1 paise per second is hell costly…” And want it to be 1/2 sec. Well – it is understandable, because subscribers hope can expect, hope, request, even demand for cheapest tariffs. And it is upto the service providers to analyse and decide on a affordable tariffs depending upon market situation and competitiveness in tariffs. However in the end subscribers can use the MNP but the providers have to stay put in their own slot for obvious reasons.

In second posting, you say that “Tata Indicom is the Premiere most operator in India, that is why they incresed the sms rates… etc… etc..” Here Something is amiss In the end every subscriber will use his/her own discretion purely based on economics, of course with some compromise somewhere selectively!

    However slips are showing…..!
