    Hi,
    I have SONY XPERIA S. It supports Micro SIM only. I was using DOCOMO SIM card after cutting it to make feasible in Micro slot. But when I cut VODAFONE SIM card, it is not working. It is showing NO SIM Card inserted. SIM card is working fine in normal phones. If you are using XPERIA S, then it’s must to port to VODAFONE Micro SIM. Uninor, Idea, Airtel Sim also doesn’t work in XPEIA S after cutting, even if they work fine in normal phones.

    Guys , how many sim cards should be taken per same id proof?

    Rohan Singh :
    I had a Airtel normal sim wanted to PORT to Docomo micro sim. But none of the representative could help me out. CC was saying its possible to PORT from normal sim to micro sim and Docomo store representative told me its technically not feasible. First you have to PORT to docomo then PORT to Micro sim. Why they are treating normal and micro sim differently..? Are call charges different..? Tired of these service providers all of them have different answers. I have Xperia P which supports micro sim only.

    You can visit any mobile shop and ask them for cutting a SIM card to micro SIM. There are special cutters available in market and shopkeeper will only charge 10-20 RS and you can use your normal SIM card as Micro SIM too.

    @Rohan Singh
    @ ROHAN – in case you are unaware pls note the following:
    * MNP (Port in SIMs) are a seperate series / batch allocated by each operator
    * Micro SIMs are not sold through every retailer / outlet – mainly company outlets
    In case of PORT IN one has to use the MNP SIM ONLY – once it gets activated it can easily (30 mins) get changed to a MICRO SIM.

    I have cut my regular MTNL sim with a sim cutter and have been using it in my iPhone 4 since months now, but its better if u have a readymade one ofcourse. since MTNL 3G tariffs are the best in Mumbai. wish they upgrade their speeds to 7.2Mbps soon.

    Soon they will upgrade it 21.1mbps work in progress, new sites acquisiton work is in progress & you will find the better services from Next year if everything goes as per the schedule…

    Nopes there is no difference between a customer with Normal or micro sim…
    Recently i ported from Airtel to Aircel & Aircel guy gave me Micro sim for free.
    Call charges are.
    Since Aircel/airtel offer Iphones tehy will be having huge micro sim stock.

    Will the existing 3G packs and STV which works on normal sim will work on Micro sim?

  • sajid June 25, 2012 7:10 pm

    ab micro sim se ullu banayenge company wale

  • Amit.G June 25, 2012 6:58 pm

    Better to use a real micro sim rather than a cut sim… Im using Nokia Lumia from 6 months & for first 5 months i used normal cut sim & now im using real micro sim after porting from Airtel to Aircel.

    Guess wat now my phone’s batter backup has increased by 20% ( get 1 whole day in 3G mode with almost internet on for 8 hours without using battery saver mode)

    Signal reception has increased very much & some have said that even data speed increases by using micro sim.
    Both operators have set up ter 3G eqipments on the same tower.

    @Jain Pulik kottil
    if you buy the microsim mobile means, you can ask the seller to cut your existing sim card to microsim size. they will do it… here in chennai poorvika mobile dealer did for me while purchasing lumia.

  • guru June 25, 2012 4:03 pm
