On 10th October, 2014, I have recharged my Airtel mobile connection with 2G internet at Rs. 98 against Plan 500MB + 500MB free validity 28 days, which came on my mobile through message. But yet, only 500MB data credited on my account. And remaining 500MB data did not update.
Besides, Airtel company has sent message, 500MB bonus data created in my account.

    i m under NE-1 CIRCLE I want 2g & 3g data plan with a single data plan .which data plan should i use .

  • SG October 13, 2013 10:03 am

i have been using the Rs 151 pack for quite some time. Perfectly meets my needs… once the 3G 500Mb is out, i switch to 2G.

Only issue i face is with recharging. I always forget the validity date and a single session deducts 20-30Rs…
    After the validity, costs are:
    1. 3G – Rs10 for every 3.3Mb( 3p/10kb)
    2. 2G – Rs10 for every 1Mb( 10p/10kb)

Is there any way i can have this pack automatically activated by deducting amount from my balance as soon as my data(2G+3G) ends or validity expires?

  • CHANDAN DAS February 27, 2013 6:50 pm

    fuddu speed(airtel)..

  • Mrinal October 18, 2012 11:42 am

    @Rajat Patil

You might be right in your ways..but if need to browse pages(most of the time)-use 2G.
when need to load large contents use 3G.

    Its just a view point.

  • Pankaj August 29, 2012 12:19 am

When this pack will be launched in Karnataka??

  • Rajat Patil August 19, 2012 12:40 pm

I second Ravin on his views. 100Rs for first 500MB-3G and 50Rs for next 500MB-2G (Considering we pay 98Rs for 1GB)its a good deal overall.

To track your data usage we do have hell loads of freeware tools in Android and Apple store using which you know when the peak of you 500MB 3g usage is reached.

I am currently using a 98Rs – 1GB plan of which by the end of using only 500-600MB so why not pay extra 50 bucks to get a better speed and content instantly on you tabs/phones! Makes sense to me.

tata docomo is giving superb speed…

  • kishor July 24, 2012 12:36 pm

BSNL 3G and EDGE connectivity much better than Airtel.. 3G sharing of Airtel causes certain network problem in there data connectivity

  • Asif July 15, 2012 9:48 am

I have been using this plan. 500mb is sufficient for me and i am able to enjoy high speed Internet on my phone.

Vodafone’s 3G is best when it comes to speed and reliability. Vodafone is of the top Telecom company in the world. And its network ability can be determined by its 2G speed itself. Vodafone is the only operator in India to successfully provide 256kbps Dial up network in India(so download speed is around 30-32 kbps in 2G) while other providers have a 140-210kbps lines.
    I can bet @ Vodafone’s 4G (to be launched by the start of 2015) is gonna rock India… n shake Airtel’s empire…

    15 Mbps @ my place

hows the speed? Airtel own network or ICRA with vodafone?

  • ad India July 14, 2012 2:06 pm

airtel 3g is the slowest one. It gives only 2Mbps i.e. Download speed of 150KB/S which is the slowest in market. Besides, where airtel has 3g ICRA with vodafone, it gives 7mbps i.e download speed of 800KB/S & that is because of the capability of vodafone 3G network.

wish they added 1st 500 mb 3g then automatic capped 2g speed for next 500mb..with an automated sms notification for the change over as well as for depletion of 1gb(before getting charged)…..

This plan is very useful to all people who use 3g for surfing / Chatting / Messaging / Streaming.

Let’s say we use mobile for surfing for 2 hour/day, and streaming for 2 hour/day when we need 3G speed. Rest of the time our mobile is in stand by or just need low speed to chatting/ Messaging. at that time we can switch our mobile to GSM mode. So No #G data will consume.

we can not get #G speed if we finished 500MB 3G data which in case of your suggestion.

Sensible one. For most applications 2G is good. For videos need 3G. So a combo is perfect.

  • santosh July 14, 2012 4:48 am

pocketmar plan, a plan to loot customer balance. in this plan, suppose u surfing & if ur 500MB 3G data over then ur balance gets deducted and becomes zero and ur 2G data wont reduced. u have to manually convert to 2G. Airtel kutta kamina…. haramkhor logon ki innovation.

  • prasad July 14, 2012 12:04 am

This is worst plan , still Airtel looting peoples, don’t use Airtel sim.

Foolish plans from AIRTEL, They don’t have brain? I accept 1 GB for 151 is fair.
But the plan should be like
1)If customers using 3G data pack, then he should be able to use it in 3G or 2G network based on his interest.
    ie,
    If using 2G network – 2G speed
    If using 3G network – 3G speed
Note – Operators can reduce the data usage from that balance whatever the network mode selected by the customers ( Everybody will be using phone in DUAL Mode, due to 3G’s poor coverage)
2)If customer activated 2G data pack, he also should be able to use it in 2G & 3G modes, But this time speed should be capped in 3G network
    Customer should get 2G speed -> For both 2G & 3G networks
This should be Implemented for all operators who offering 2G & 3G !!

“dont they have brain”…..but so are its customers……so it is no 1 in india

This plan is way better than existing 2g or 3g individual rates. For example, the Airtel is now charging Rs 202 for 500MB data with 30 days validity. Similarly, the tariff for 2G comes to Rs 49 at the rate of Rs 98 for 1GB data with 30 validity. Under this new system, one can get 500MB data at only Rs 100, assuming that the remaining Rs 50 is the cost of 500MB 2G data. Anyway this is improved offer, not the one to be rejected outright.

  • Raghu July 13, 2012 7:18 pm

BAD Plan by Airtel. it should have been for 1 GB atleast.

  • chandra July 13, 2012 7:08 pm

IT IS USELESS PLAN,INSTEAD GIVE 500 MB 3G DATA AT RS. 75

Its actually a nice tot plan..lemme explain …here is a case where u are trying to listen to online streaming …ex shout cast radio..most of the broadcast is at less than128 kbps…in this case the2Gspeed is sufficient…no need to consume costly3G forthis purpose….perfect sense…another case is just syncing email box and replying…here too edge speeds are sufficient…I agree tat 3G is better but then need is one aspect….

Say a case where in higher speeds are required ex..youtube or fast browsing example mobile banking etc….here real 3G sppeds are essential…

For ,me this is a good plan.

Having said above m not an airtel supporter.I ditched airtel way back in 2005. Its just the plan I am trying to understand though the data offered should have been lil more……

  • Mahmood Junaid July 13, 2012 6:56 pm

  • abhijeet July 13, 2012 6:16 pm

Hard to understand the logic behind such offer.
The world is moving toward unified tariff for 2G/3G or any G, for simplicity.. and our companies want to further separate these technologies.
