
Vodafone Idea (Vi), the third-largest telecom operator, has been granted a five-year moratorium on adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues by the government. This development was reported by Reuters on Wednesday. The Indian goverment has provided a big relief to the telco, as now the company can focus on using the cashflow for operating business expenses and incurring capex (capital expenditure) for expanding 4G and deploying 5G.

This gives Vi the crucial time to pay off the AGR dues to the government. It would be interesting to see if any such benefit will be granted to Bharti Airtel. Note that Vodafone Idea has not yet confirmed the same yet.
