NUMBER OF NEW TELECOM SUBSCRIBERS DIPS IN MAY

The Indian telecom industry saw a marginal dip in the number of new subscribers in the month of  April the same has happened in May with no sign of growth in Subscriber base; India has added 8.3 million mobile subscribers in May taking the total subscriber base to 306.4 million in its GSM telecom networks. WRITTEN CONSENT OF SUBSCRIBERS MUST FOR VAS :TRAI

In a bid to encourage efficient use of numbering resources, DoT has been asked to charge a special levy for numbers allocated to telecom operators. MOBILE TARIFFS TO COME DOWN,TRAI CHOPS CALL TERMINATION CHARGES

Indian Telecom regulator TRAI today slashed call termination charges by 33 per cent, a move which would result in bringing down the mobile tariffs for consumers. Termination charges are paid by one operator to another on whose network the call ends.The regulator has reduced the termination charges on local calls to 20 paise a minute from existing 30 paise. INTERNATIONAL CALL TO INDIA MAY COST MORE

International or Overseas calls to India are likely to become more expensive. VODAFONE BLOCKS MyToday SMS SERVICE

MyToday SMS service has run into yet another blockade this time from Vodafone.Vodafone has blocked the short code 575758 so that subscribers can’t request or receive sms from 575758.
