In a bid to further popularize internet broadband usage, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL), the leading broadband and telecom service provider, today announced that it has increased the Broadband Speed in all its Unlimited Broadband tariff plans free of cost for its customers in Mumbai circle.
Keeping plan charges same, MTNL doubled all their Unlimited TriBand (broadband) plan speeds. Now MTNL subscribers will be eligible for the new twice faster broadband speed enhancements from 16th August, 2009 at the existing rates.
MTNL Mumbai's Unlimited 256 kbps plan users now get 512 kbps speed for the same price of Rs.999, and the old 512kbps plan is now 1mbps, while 1Mbps & 2Mbps users will get 2Mbps & 4Mbps at the same price of their respective Unlimited tariff plans from today.
MTNL is providing the truly Unlimited Broadband plan without any "Fair Usage Policy" or limitations regarding download and uploads. The monthly CPE service charges are also waived off for all Unlimited Plans users.
MTNL Mumbai also providing 2mbps broadband connection at Rs.199 per month.
