MTNL Launches India’s First Missed Call Alert Facility on Landline Phone

In an attempt to boost its Fixed Line / Land-line services, Mumbai’s largest Broadband and Land line phone service provider Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL), today announced the launch of India's first SMS based “Missed Call Alert Service on Land-line" for  its customers in Mumbai telecom circle.




MTNL's Missed Call Alert for Land-line (MCA) is an extended communication inovetive tool of wire-line services for sending information on any Missed Call to the subscribers land-line to his /her registered Mobile Phone.

MTNL has partnered with Universal Software, USA, to deploy and offer this unique service to its land-line customers.With subscribers missing calls for out of reach/home/office situation, this innovative and first of its kind service on land-line ensuring a subscriber knows who has called.

Tariff :

As part of an exciting introductory offer by MTNL, all land-line customers subscribing to Missed Call Alert Facility will now be given a FREE subscription up to 31st May 2012. From the 1st June, 2012 the service charges of Rs.20 per month will be applicable to continue with the service.

How to Subscribe :

To subscribe, Land-line customer needs to make a request on MTNL call center 1500 from his/her land-line phone and register their Mobile Number (any network) to get alerts about Missed Call on landline,  by IVR 127127 from their mobile phone.The subscriber is required to register his mobile number to receive MCA alerts and can have facility to modify the registered mobile number any time by dialing IVR short code 127127 (toll free).

The launch function held at Mumbai was graced by Mr, A.K. Garg, CMD, MTNL, Mr. Peeyush Agrawal, ED, MTNL Mumbai, Mr Akhilesh Trivedi VP, Universal Software and Mr. Kishor Deshpande, CEO Universal Software.

Currently MTNL is the only land-line service provider in the country which is providing SMS based MCA service for its land-line users in Mumbai.

Not all sites of 5G are 10Gig. I believe rural sites are only 1Gig.
