Intex has just launched its cheapest ever octa-core processor device in the country with the moniker Aqua i5 Octa for Rs 7,499. The launch comes right after Xolo launched its two budget octa-core devices in the country earlier today for Rs 8,999 and Rs 9,999.

It comes with a set of specifications a notch below the Xolo offerings and is meant more as a Moto E, Canvas Unite 2 and Redmi 1S rival. Let us take a look at the specifications of the Intex Aqua i5 Octa.

Intex-Aqua-i5-Octa

  • 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels
  • 1.4 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592M processor coupled with a Mali 450 GPU and a 1GB RAM
  • Android 4.4 KitKat is what it runs on and there’s no word for the time being regarding an update in future
  • 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded by another 32GB with the help of a microSD card slot
  • 13-Megapixel rear camera coupled with a LED flash and a 5-Megapixel front camera
  • 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Dual SIM and USB OTG for connectivity
  • Colours available: Black, Blue and White
  • 2000 mAh battery

The device will go on sale exclusively on Amazon and its specifications are closely matched up to those of the Xolo Omega 5 save for the display resolution. It comes across as a pretty value for money handset.
