With this service, BSNL will be able to drive its FTTH business upwards. While the FTTH customers are currently getting this service at no additional cost, there may be a commercial charge in the future. At present, BSNL is just testing the service and allowing users also to experience it without having to worry about losing their money on an experience they didn’t like. Work is also ongoing to launch 4G services throughout India.
BSNL has confirmed that it will be able to deploy 1 lakh 4G sites by mid-2025. After that, the state-run telecom operator will look to deploy 5G for customers. The testing for 5G SA (standalone) is already ongoing in the Delhi circle.
