When it comes to prepaid plans, the subscribers in India have a handful of choices at their disposal. Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio currently seem to be the top choice when it comes to prepaid connection. Now, there is no doubt that Bharti Airtel ships some of the most attractive prepaid plans for the users. The telecom operator also boasts of massive connectivity of the 4G network across the country. But, sometimes it’s also the case that you might want to experience faster speeds and it is just not possible, especially in public places. This is where Airtel Wi-Fi hotspots come into play. The Sunil Bharti Mittal led telecom operator has deployed hotspots all over the country so that its subscribers will be able to access high-speed internet easily. Now, the question is, how can the prepaid users of Bharti Airtel get access to data at these Wi-Fi zones. Here is how.

Airtel Wi-Fi Zone Availability

The Airtel Wi-Fi Zones will be available in public spaces like airports, parks, colleges, hospitals and more. As per the information provided by Airtel, currently, there are more than 500 Wi-Fi Zones in cities like Hyderabad, Pune, Delhi, Bengaluru and more. For connecting to these hotspots, the Bharti Airtel prepaid customers will need to have the Airtel Thanks application on their phones. Also, it is worth noting that the prepaid subscribers of Bharti Airtel are getting 20GB data credited to their account to be used in these Wi-Fi Zones. Another crucial thing to note about this service is that it is currently available for the prepaid subscribers only and the postpaid subscribers will have to wait for it.

How to Connect to Airtel Wi-Fi Zone

Firstly, you will have to be in the proximity of an Airtel Wi-Fi hotspot. When you can see the name of the network in the list of other networks in your Wi-Fi connection settings, you will need to open the Airtel Thanks application. After this, you will need to tap on the “My Wi-Fi” tile inside the Airtel Thanks application. After accepting the permission, you will be connected to the internet, and then you would be able to browse easily with high speeds. Alternatively, the subscribers can go for the @Free Airtel Wi-Fi SSID directly through their Wi-Fi settings. When the login page for the Wi-Fi appears, then you will be needed to tap the Airtel User button, after which you will be given an OTP to enter. After you enter the OTP, you will be able to access Wi-Fi.

Bharti Airtel has also noted in its website that with the Airtel Thanks application, the subscribers will be able to keep a check on how much balance data they have got left on their Wi-Fi credit. After the subscribers run out of this data, they would have to disconnect from the Wi-Fi and continue using data from their prepaid account. As for the data limit which the subscribers get to experience on their prepaid plans for Wi-Fi Zones, it would vary from recharge to recharge for the customers. A while ago, the subscribers were getting 20GB data credited on their account for 5GB or 10GB data benefit to be used in Airtel Wi-Fi Zones.
