The arrival of the new regulatory framework stirred up the DTH and broadcasting industry well. The result of this was a massive shift in strategies of DTH companies and suddenly every company was running for more and more subscribers. To accomplish this, the DTH operators rolled out new offers, promising schemes and whatnot and the subscribers enjoyed the benefit of these. As part of this, Airtel Digital TV and Tata Sky also slashed prices of its set-top box thus reducing the cost of getting a new Airtel Digital TV connection. Not only this, but Airtel Digital TV also introduced new long-term channel packs with cashbacks and various offers for its subscribers. What other benefits is Airtel Digital TV currently offering to its subscribers?

Getting New Airtel Digita TV Connection at Discount

On the Airtel official website, the new customers will have to go to the DTH section where they will be able to find an application which will allow them to choose their subscription plan. The application will work in three steps, wherein firstly the subscriber will have to select their set-top box. Since the Rs 1,000 benefit is applicable on the HD set-top box, the choice is made by default. On the second step, the subscribers will have to choose their channel packs. The default channel pack chosen by Airtel is of 150 channels which amount to Rs 452 per month. However, subscribers can decide to lower the price of the monthly subscription by changing the channel pack.

The total sum which the subscribers will have to pay to get a new Airtel Digital TV connection comes out to be Rs 769. It is worth noting that this price is exclusive of NCF (Network Capacity Fee), Installation and Activation charges. It is worth noting that the sale price of the HD set-top box will be Rs 1,490 only. Similarly, the subscribers will be able to choose the Internet TV set-top box or the SD set-top box while making their selection. On the second step as well, the users will get full flexibility to choose their channels packs. Apart from the recommended packs which Airtel Digital TV suggests to the customers, the subscribers will be able to choose their own channel packs.

Upgrading to HD Set-Top Box and Internet TV

Airtel Digital TV is also offering a discounted price to its subscribers for upgrading to HD set-top box or the Internet TV set-top box. Subscribers wishing to upgrade to an HD set-top box will only have to spend Rs 699 plus Rs 150 engineer visit charges. Whereas, to upgrade to an Internet TV Box, the subscribers will have to pay Rs 1,999 plus Rs 250 engineer visit charges.

Airtel Digital TV Also Has Cheaper Multi TV Policy

Airtel Digital TV has announced that under its Multi TV policy, the subscribers will be able to get a secondary Airtel Digital TV connection by paying an NCF fee of Rs 80. It is worth noting that this is one of the most attractive multi-TV policy available in the market after Dish TV and D2h which offering multi-TV connection at flat NCF of Rs 50. Even then, the Airtel Digital TV subscribers can enjoy a second TV in their home at just Rs 80 and if they are watching more than 100 channels, then they will have to pay Rs 20 for additional 25 channels. Combined with all the other attractive offerings from Airtel Digital TV like the long-term channel packs, cashback and the discounted STB, this makes getting an Airtel Digital TV connection, an all the more sensible choice.
