Reliance Jio Updates for December 2024: Data Packs, AirFiber Offer, and New Year Plan
India's largest telecom operator, Reliance Jio, tweaks its prepaid plans every now and then. However, the last significant update from Jio was in November 2024, when the telco rolled out a new data pack, introduced the True 5G Gift Voucher, and made minor changes to its AirFiber plans. The most recent discussion we had was about Jio's postpaid plans available in the market in October 2024. As we step into 2025, let's look at the changes Jio has implemented since our November update.

1. Jio Data Packs

As of this writing, Jio is offering eight data packs for users to top up and enjoy extra data in addition to their existing plan benefits. However, there is a change with two data packs, Rs 29 and Rs 19. Previously, these two data packs were valid for the duration of the active base plan. Now, Jio has introduced a limited validity component for these packs. This means users must consume the data within the specified validity period; otherwise, the benefits will lapse.

Jio Rs 29 Data Pack

The Rs 29 Jio data pack includes 2GB of data with a validity of 2 days. After using the high-speed data, users can enjoy unlimited data at 64 kbps. Previously, as of TelecomTalk's September 2024 update, the validity matched that of the base plan.

Jio Rs 19 Data Pack

The Rs 19 data pack now includes 1GB of data with a validity of 1 day. After using the high-speed data, users can continue with unlimited data at 64 kbps. Previously, as of TelecomTalk's September 2024 update, the validity also matched that of the base plan.

With this revision, all Jio data packs now come with a fixed validity period, and the data benefits must be used within this timeframe, or they will lapse. However, two Data Booster packs, Rs 139 and Rs 69, still come with active plan validity, offering 12GB and 6GB of data, respectively.

2. Jio New Year 2025 Plan

Another new addition is the Jio New Year Plan, priced at Rs 2025. This plan offers 2.5GB of data per day with a validity of 200 days. More details about this plan can be found in the linked story.

3. AirFiber

The AirFiber free installation offer worth Rs 1,000, exclusive to the 3-month plan priced at Rs 2,222, will end on December 31, 2024. This benefit is applicable to both existing and new bookings. However, if you are unable to avail of this offer by the end of the month, there is no need to worry, as we believe the offer may be relaunched later under a different branding or format.
