Turkcell and ZTE have announced that they have successfully completed a 1.2 Tbps single-wavelength test on a live network, utilising 800GE + 400GE client interfaces simultaneously. The companies claim this achievement as the world's first live test of 1.2 Tbps single-wavelength transmission using an 800GE client interface, in collaboration with Turkcell on the Bursa commercial network.

Enhancing Bandwidth with 1.2 Tbps Solution
Turkcell and ZTE collaborated to test the feasibility of ultra-high-speed Optical Transport Network (OTN) transmission with 400GE and 800GE client boards, along with a 1.2 Tbps line board in Bursa. The test equipment provided a 2x400GE and 800GE client interface for various flexible scenarios.
Compared to traditional 400G solutions, the 1.2T solution offers higher bandwidth and transmission rates. This service also supports a migration to 1.6 Tbps, ZTE added.
