Following Bharti Airtel, Anil Ambani led Reliance Communications which is in the process to merge their wireless operations with Aircel and MTS has started offering unlimited voice calls on their network at a low rate of Rs 153. Though, they had offered unlimited calling benefits earlier, this time they are offering similar benefits at dirt cheap rate to lessen subscriber churn rate as majority of people are moving to Jio for unlimited voice calling benefits which the Mukesh Ambani firm is offering under the 'Welcome Offer'.

Though unlike Bharti Airtel, RCom isn't offering truly unlimited voice call to other networks instead they are offering true unlimited to any Reliance Mobile number in the country clubbed with 1000 Minutes for any other numbers in India for 28 days at Rs 153.

As most of the people use 250 -350 minutes on an average on their network, we can call this offer as value for money for RCom customers. However, as of now the offer is limited to few subscribers of circles like Kolkata, Delhi and Tamil nadu. But, we believe the company would extend such offers to more customers in next few weeks to attract old customers.

RCom's Unlimited Voice Offer

  • Unlimited calls to any Reliance number throughout the country.
  • 1000 minutes to any local and STD numbers.
  • All these benefits for such a low rate of Rs 153 for 28 days.
  • Currently available to limited customers of most of the circles.

As Jio announced Unlimited Calls on its network and telecom biggies like Airtel and Vodafone came up with low cost unlimited calling offers, RCom started losing its ground as a large portion of its customers were voice users and were spending much on STD minutes. Even, after the CDMA shutdown, it lost millions of customers and bad handling of customer services and complaints narrowed their active subscriber base to almost 70 percent.

Also, its so-called Gold 4G didn't help much to retain old customers as speeds were much lower while the prices are much higher. So, an aggressive price cut or 'Sabse Sasta' offering is the only way for the company before they complete the merger with Aircel and MTS.

Note: Before doing the recharge do cross check with customer care. The story is based on multiple sources.
