Most messenger application in the market now offer voice calling and WhatsApp has already announced plans to introduce voice calling feature. Hike had recently bought US based Zip Phone, a free Voice calling company. This purchase has enabled Hike introduce voice calling feature on a fast phase. Currently, this feature will be limited to Android users only.

Hike was launched back in 2012 as a joint venture between Bharti Enterprises and Softbank. But failed to attain growth in a market which was dominated by players like WhatsApp and Viber. On the contrary, Bharti Airtel had tried earlier tried to limit usage of VoIP on its network and eventually had to rollback its decision due to heavy backlash from users.

Do you think the voice calling feature will help Hike gain more users?
