A new digital cable TV federation to replace MSO Alliance, a good move?

Leading national and state level cable operators have merged to form an union federation, All India Digital Cable Federation (AIDCF). Leading cable operators who had users more than a lakh were invited at this meeting where they introduced this Federation. With the formation of AIDCF, the Multi-System Operators (MSO) Alliance comprising the five national MSOs has been dissolved. VD Wadhwa, CEO of Siti Cable was unanimously elected as the president of AIDCF.

All MSOs who have a digital cable TV subscriber base of one lakh and who are following TRAI quality of service (QoS) were invited to this meeting where the industry would speak in common and work together.The main purpose of this federation was the growth and digitisation of Cable TV along with interest in both Broadband and other value added services.

As a united federation, they will be the voice of Indian Cable Industry and will discuss the issues and the meetings with other ministers, service providers and other financial institutions.
