People use prepaid mobile connection to control their usage, to get rid of bill shock at the end of month. But Tata Docomo CDMA is always ready to give you a bill shock if you are using mobile internet on Tata Docomo CDMA.
Tata Docomo CDMA 1x packs are pretty awesome compared to GSM offerings from other operators and in my personal experience Tata has quite good 1x network (may be because of Tata Docomo CDMA has less number of voice customers).
But the worst part is when you exhaust the data pack usage you are billed at 10p/10kB with your main account balance and even if your main balance is exhausted Tata Docomo CDMA prepaid allows you to continue internet access, but this is not free. Ultimately you will have some three or four digit negative balance, but IVR and SMS balance notification will show you zero balance.
What is the meaning of using prepaid if my balance goes to negative. As I talked with Tata Docomo Chat, the representative told me that Tata Docomo CDMA can not disconnect the ongoing internet access after customer's main balance goes to zero. No GSM operators or other CDMA operators like Reliance, MTS or BSNL do like it.
This is simply ridiculous and probably this is done so that more and more Tata Docomo CDMA customers moved out from it. This is never expected from a brand which is a part of India's iconic Tata Group.
