Virgin Mobile CDMA Stops Adding New Customers

Virgin Mobile CDMA Stops Adding New CustomersFollowing Virgin Group’s exit from Virgin Mobile venture of Tata Tele, the days of the mobile brand was numbered and now it looks like TTL is closing down Virgin brand one by one.

For last 2 years, TTL faces lower customer addition to their CDMA voice services – Tata Docomo CDMA (earlier Tata Indicom).

TTL’s GSM arm Tata Docomo takes the limelight of Tata’s mobile services; it causes TTL to undergo a brand makeover for its CDMA business.

TTL is focusing its CDMA wing to data centric business, as Photon is already well accepted brand for wireless broadband market. TTL is bringing its CDMA business under one wing – Tata Docomo CDMA/Walky/Photon.

In a latest email conversation with Virgin Mobile customer care we came to know TTL stops providing new Virgin Mobile CDMA connection.

Existing customers will keep getting all benefits of Virgin Mobile CDMA as they were. Helpline of Virgin CDMA remains on 125999 (tollfree from Virgin Mobile CDMA).

Virgin Mobile India is not going to quit from India , they have make a brand agreement til 2025 for GSM venture under Virgin GSM with TATA TEL until they receive MVNO status from TRAI . When receive MVNO status by 2018 expected they will come with Virgin 4G LIVE under Virgin Mobile USA pro technology interchange . Virgin GSM gonna stay in market for a long time . About CDMA Vflash users are still there . Vigin CDMA sims are sold on special places till yet (2013). CDMA still are rarely used nowadays , Virgin CDMA future is over maybe . We might see two Virgin Mobile Brands Virgin Mobile GSM ( with Tata Tel ) and Virgin 4G LIVE ( MVNO*) in near future .
Also stay tuned to Virgin’s FM services for more info via feVer FM INDIA.

  • Abhishek Dutta November 1, 2011 11:24 pm

Atleast Virgin Mobile shuld start their own services (GSM & CDMA) in INDIA. Its a leading telecom company across the globe and have pan licences in UK, USA, QATAR & AUSTRALIA. Anyhow, they shuld start their own telephony services for their Indian Virgin mobile customers.
