In an event today at New Delhi, Samsung took the wraps off its Samsung Z2 smartphone. The device will be exclusively up for sale via PayTM online and offline stores in Gold, Black, and Wine Red colour options for Rs. 4,590. The device comes with Jio Preview offer packed with unrestricted access to voice, data, and Jio apps for 90 days.
The Samsung Z2 features a 4-inch WVGA TFT display with a resolution of 800x480 pixels. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor clubbed with 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card). It runs Tizen OS 2.4 and sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash along with a VGA front-facing camera. It supports dual-SIM and 4G LTE connectivity. It is backed by 1500mAh battery.
Similar to the devices in J series, the Z2 also comes equipped with ‘S bike mode’ for the safety and convenience of bikers. The mode allows the bikers to activate pre-written text for all the incoming calls (they can activate it for select contacts). Additionally, the device comes equipped with an Ultra data saving (UDS) mode, which is powered by Opera Max for compressing cellular data.
There is another feature on the Z2, dubbed as My Money Transfer. It is a built-in app that allows users to control transactions efficiently and generate mini statements. Users can register on the app by using unique MMID that needs to be linked to the registered smartphone via user generated M-Pin.
