Samsung Officially Launches the Galaxy J7 Duo in India for Rs 16,990

Samsung India has officially announced the mid-range Galaxy J7 Duo smartphone for Rs 16,990. The J7 Duo, which will be available in Black and Gold colour options will be up for sale across offline stores starting April 12, 2018. For the most part, the specifications of the Galaxy J7 Duo remain the same as compared to the earlier launched Galaxy J devices, but the highlights of this device include dual rear camera setup, Android 8.0 Oreo presence and Face Unlock feature. The device will compete with the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and the newly launched Nokia 6 (2018) smartphones in the country.

Just yesterday, we reported the complete specifications of the J7 Duo and the official specs fall in-line with the same. Diving into the specifications of the Galaxy J7 Duo, the smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and sadly, it’s a 16:9 display, not the trendy 18:9 display panel. And Samsung is offering an HD display smartphone at Rs 16,990. Well, only the South Korean smartphone giant can answer the question of ‘WHY.’

Internally, the phone is powered by the 1.6GHz Exynos 7 series chipset, which works in tandem with 4GB of RAM. There’s 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 256GB with a microSD card slot. But there’s no update on whether it’s a dedicated microSD card slot or a hybrid SIM card slot.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo is the first mid-range smartphone from Samsung under Rs 20,000 to rock dual camera setup at the back. The device has a 13MP primary f/1.9 sensor and a secondary 5MP sensor, which captures depth information. There’s an 8MP selfie shooter on the front.

The device boots Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with Samsung Experience UI 9.0 on top. Interestingly, Samsung has added Face Unlock feature to the device, which every brand has been going crazy about in recent times. A 3000mAh battery backs the entire smartphone.

Connectivity wise, the Galaxy J7 Duo offers 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, dual SIM and a micro USB 2.0 port. The device offers all the basic sensors such as Proximity, Accelerometer and Ambient Light Sensor. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the front side of the phone below the display- typical Samsung design. It measures 8.2mm in thickness and weighs around 174grams.

Motorola is almost close to nil in Indian market!!!!! Those who will buy Moto devices in 2018 will be foolish persons in my opinion!!!!! Honor/Xiaomi/Nokia/One Plus are the devices to look forward too in 2018!!!!!!

Motorola has gone from bad to worse in a single year!!!!! They just needs to do two things!!!!! Battery about 3500Mah!!!!!and constant updates for one year along with one major update!!!!! Price just above Xiaomi!!!!! That will bring them back into competition!!!!! Otherwise it’s over for them

Half of the things you said are correct!!!!! But that’s how it goes and that’s how it works for them!!!!! Let’s see how much they sells this year!!!!! It was record breaking for Xiaomi in the form of three phones A1, Note 4,Redmi 4!!!!! All are excellent devices in their price range!!!!! Now they have confused us a lot!!!!! Let’s see what they bring us next!!!!

purchased moto g5s plus a month ago & i didn’t find me foolish! Mi A1 & Moto G5s plus are the best phone available arround 15k. Honor does not have proper service center so that was out of choice 😛

Dual camera doesn’t bring anything special over single camera in case of Moto!!!!! So given I have only Moto in market, I will get Moto G5 Plus over Moto G5s Plus!!!!! Why to waste the money and that too for 4000!!!!!

Unfortunately you didn’t bought that when it was launched!!!!! It still hasn’t got Oreo update!!!!! Most of the Moto G5 Plus users bought it in Diwali when price got less than half that’s sums it up!!!!!! Again it was outselling Redmi Note 4 after price drop!!!!! At the launch not much people bought it!!!!! I feel Moto has lost the game on everything!!!!! Before Moto has to be updated before the year ends!!!!! But this didn’t happen in last two iterations!!!!!

Samsung and Motorola will never be able to make comeback in midrange segment!!!!! Once Airtel deploys 900Mhz for 4G and expand their coverage as 4G only, Samsung will loose midrange segment totally!!!!! Only devices selling well in Samsung are S7 edge/S8 plus/S9Plus/A8Plus/A7(2017)!!!!!
