Reliance communications the 4th largest operator by subscriber base is all set to launch its 4G data services across the country. The operator has updated its website with a countdown timer which suggests that the 4G services will go live at 9.30 Am tomorrow 30th June.
Rcom has in the first phase only targeted its 5 million CDMA and EvDO subscribers who will be the first ones to get a taste of the 4th generation high speed network, Rcom later plans to open the network to its existing GSM 3G subscribers.
Rcom has also sent out an email to its subscribers in Mumbai circle informing them that the 4G network is live in Mumbai circle and subscribers can now insert their newly activated 4G sim cards in the new wi-pod devices and power them up to enjoy the high speed network.
My wi-pod currently is not able to latch on to the Rcom LTE network in Mumbai, if any of our readers was able to get theirs activated in Mumbai or any other circle kindly share your experience and also include speedtest screenshots in the comments section below. As of now the 4G tariff details are available only for the 3 circles of Mumbai, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh on the Rcom website.
Update: The countdown timer on Rcom website has been removed just like the 4G tariff page. There is no timeframe currently available for Rcom 4G launch. Stay tuned for newer updates.
