There's been a lot of news about Motorola's product lineup for 2017. Motorola is looking to release as many as nine devices in the next two months or maybe in next month itself. Till date, all the leaks claimed that there would be two devices in the Moto Z2 lineup- the Moto Z2 Force and the Moto Z2 Play, but nothing was revealed about the 'Moto Z2'- the successor to the thinnest smartphone- Moto Z.
In fact, rumours also claimed that Motorola would be killing the standard Moto Z2. But it may not be the scenario as the phone's render was posted online two days ago and now, the device itself pays a visit to benchmark site- Geekbench. The Moto Z2 will bear the model number as XT1650. The surprising part is that a device with model number XT1650 was benchmarked since August 2016, but with a quad-core SoC, supposedly to be the Snapdragon 821 SoC.
However, in a listing, the device was benchmarked with MSM 8998 SoC on board, and it's the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset. Nevertheless, this listing was also created back in January 2017. Amidst all these, the phone scored a healthy 1930 single-core score along with a multi-core score of 6207.
Besides the scores, the device has 4GB of RAM and is running Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Aforesaid, a render of the smartphone was posted online revealing its design. The Moto Z2 has the same design to the Moto Z2 Force leaked earlier with a front-facing flash and an oval-shaped fingerprint scanner at the front. There will be a 5.5-inch Full HD screen dominating the front of the phone.
The Moto Z2, on par with other Moto Z2 phones will have support for Moto Mods and will feature a dual camera at the back. The Moto Z2 might have support for wireless charging as well.
