Karbonn K9 Smart Grand is the latest smartphone from the Indian smartphone brand Karbonn. Like other Karbonn smartphones, the Karbonn K9 Smart Grand also caters to the entry-level segment with a price tag of Rs. 5,290. This smartphone is the successor to last year's Karbonn K9 Smart. Also, the K9 Smart Grand is one among the few entry-level smartphones which offer a fingerprint scanner.

The Karbonn K9 Smart Grand offers 4G LTE and VoLTE connectivity options. Almost every smartphone releasing these days offering VoLTE, and it's good to see Karbonn matching the trend. As said earlier, the USP of the smartphone is the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Apart from the fingerprint scanner and VoLTE support, other specifications of the smartphone are mediocre.

In terms of specifications, the Karbonn K9 Smart Grand flaunts a 5.2-inch display. Sadly, Karbonn is offering just a FWVGA display and not an HD panel like how iVoomi is offering with its Me series of smartphones. This 5.2-inch display also has a 2.5D curved glass on top, which helps in the device look a tad better.

Under the hood, the Karbonn K9 Smart Grand houses an unspecified 1.3GHz quad-core processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage. The storage is further expandable up to 32GB with a microSD card.

Camera wise, Karbonn has added an 8MP camera at the back which comes with support for an LED flash. Up front, the smartphone has a 5MP snapper which doesn't feature an LED flash support.

Apart from the 4G LTE and VoLTE, the Karbonn K9 Smart Grand has dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB OTG, and GPS. This entire package is backed by a 2300mAh battery.

Lastly, the smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, which is a good thing, but it's highly unlikely for the device to receive Android 8.0 Oreo update. The Karbonn K9 Smart Grand comes in two colour options black and champagne.
