Greenpeace Impressed by Airtel’s Sustainability Report

Greenpeace appreciates Airtel's move to cleaner ecosystemEnvironmental organization Greenpeace likes the recently-published sustainability report (SR) of country's largest cellco Bharti Airtel. Greenpeace India thinks that it is a forward move towards corporate sustainability as it wanted Airtel to take up the leadership in 'Clean Talk' for last two years.

Airtel also opened the conversation with Greenpeace to make a concrete action plan regarding this. Greenpeace likes to see Airtel to set up progressive emission reduction targets by the year 2015 and 2020, while making long term investment plan in renewable energy sources for their growing telecom tower infrastructure and lead the low carbon race.




We appreciate and congratulate Bharti Airtel for taking the long awaited step towards sustainability with the launch of this report. This is a landmark step towards creating a cleaner and sustainable telecom ecosystem in the country.” said Mrinmoy Chattaraj, Campaigner, Greenpeace India.
